“There may have been a expletives used during that conversation!” – Dublin EuroDreams winner claims Tier 2 prize from Leap Day draw

Cork Millionaire Raffle winner comes forward to claim €100,000 prize from New Year’s Eve draw

A Dublin EuroDreams player was thrilled to pop into National Lottery Headquarters to officially sign the paperwork to claim their Tier 2 prize from the 29th February draw.

The online player won €2,000 per month for 5 years following a special Leap Day promotion which guaranteed that one EuroDreams player in Ireland would win the Tier 2 prize in that particular draw.

The EuroDreams player admitted that it came as a big shock to receive a call from the Prize Claims team the day after the draw.

“I got a call from the Claims Manager the day after the draw and he told me he had a bit of good news for me and then told me exactly what I had won. It’s not a call that I was expecting to receive so there may have been a few expletives used during that conversation. He caught me totally off guard so it took a bit of convincing. I went back and looked at my emails and online account and of course compared the phone numbers. I think it’s normal now to assume it’s some sort of joke but thank goodness it wasn’t!”

The EuroDreams game is the first annuity type game of its’ kind in Ireland and the online Dublin winner admitted that this is the factor that appeals most to them instead of the usual lump-sum Jackpot prize amounts.

“Leaving the Winner’s Room without an actual cheque is definitely unique and probably not the way that most of us imagine our visit here but to be honest, ever since the game launched, EuroDreams has become the regular game I play now. I find the annuity prize more appealing than a huge lump sum all at once as is the case with most games. I still can’t believe I won though, even while sitting here. To think that the initial prize that I had won was €2.50 and out of all the winners for that night, I was selected for the extra promotional prize. I have never won a thing in my life so it certainly is a lot to comprehend. The first plan of action is to go on a big holiday to celebrate and then we’ll see from there!”

Meanwhile, the Rebel County Millionaire Raffle player who scooped €100,000 in the New Year’s Eve draw has come forward with just weeks to go until the 30th March deadline for claiming. The Cork player won the incredible prize after purchasing their ticket at Friars Road Post Office in Turners Cross and arrangements are now being made for them to collect their prize in Lotto HQ.
