Shake, Pick, Play

With our new Shake feature, it's easy and fun to get random numbers. Simply choose the game you want; give your phone a shake and your new numbers will appear on screen right then and there. You can then choose to play those randomly generated numbers, edit or swap a number you don’t like or shake again for a whole new line. You never know… It could be you.

Single Basket

When you want to buy tickets for multiple games, the Single Basket makes checkout quick and hassle-free. It keeps your selections in one place until you’re done and allows you to pay for them all together when you’re ready. We know everyone wants to play the way they like. Some of you prefer Quick Pick while others set your numbers weeks in advance. Luckily, our App lets you do it your way.

Ticket Scanner

And if you decide to play in-store, you can use our Ticket Scanner feature to quickly find out if you’re a winner!

Other features include check results of other draw games and manage all your past tickets in one place by selecting Tickets on the navigation bar.

What is new about the National Lottery App?

With our new mobile App, we want to make playing your favourite National Lottery games easier, more secure and fun. There are a number of new features and improvements included in our new App some of which are detailed below.

Our most exciting new feature is the ‘Shake, Pick, Play’ functionality. Simply choose your draw-based game you want to play (Lotto, EuroMillions or Daily Million); give your phone a shake and your numbers will be randomly selected and appear on screen. You can then choose to play those randomly generated numbers, edit or swap a number you don’t like or shake again for a whole new line. 

If you want to buy tickets for multiple draw games, the new Single Basket feature gives you a quick hassle-free checkout experience. It keeps selections in one place until completed and allows you to pay for them all together in a single transaction.

The Ticket Scanner allows you to check any of your tickets purchased in a retail store and you can find out quickly if you are a winner. 

You can also check results of other draw games, save your favourite lottery numbers and manage all your past tickets in one place by selecting Tickets on the navigation bar.

To make it simpler and easier for you to login, we have enabled features such as Face ID for iOS & biometrics for Android.

What advice does the National Lottery offer to players who are showing signs of problem play?

At the National Lottery, we are committed to empowering you with the tools that are needed to protect yourself and ensure you are playing within your means.

We offer a wide range of up to date responsible play information, resources and personalised controls. We also have a dedicated Responsible Play team who monitors for any early signs of potential problem play and will engage with these players as appropriate

How does ID verification encourage responsible play?

At the National Lottery, we recognise that the internet is readily available in many homes and because of this, we must work together with parents to prevent children from underage gaming. Our new Age verification feature makes it safe, simple and easy to age verify. We encourage all players to ID verify using their passport or drivers’ licence.

Steps to Age Verify in App

  1. You can verify your identity at registration or in 'My Account' if you are already registered. 
  2. To verify your ID and ensure you're over 18, just take a picture of your passport or driver's licence using the App.
  3. When prompted hold your phone over the document so that all 4 corners are visible, there is no blur and all writing is legible.
  4. Once the document has been scanned, we'll need you to take a selfie to verify your likeness against your ID document.
  5. Look straight at the camera and follow the instructions that are presented to you on screen. 
  6. Once this is completed the software will authenticate your ID and compare your likeness, which will take a few seconds. You will then get a notification whether your verification process has passed, failed or been referred. 
  7. If your identity has been referred, one of our customer support team will review your submission. Once completed, we'll send you an email with the outcome of the review. 
  8. Please note once your ID has been reviewed, all your scanned images are retained for a period of 31 days for auditing purposes and will then be deleted. 

What do I need to do to update the National Lottery App?

All you need to do is go into the App Store (on iPhone) or Google Play Store (on Android) and complete the following steps:

iPhone

  • Open the App Store, then tap Today at the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.
  • Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to the National Lottery app icon to update to get new version.

 

Android

  • Open the Google Play Store app .
  • Tap Menu. Settings.
  • Tap on Update at National Lottery App (if not already set to Auto-update)

What devices does the App support?

How do I use the ticket scanner?

The ticket scanner will check all draw game tickets and let you know instantly if you have won. 

Tap ‘Scanner’ on the bottom navigation bar of the App. 

  • On first use, the App will ask for permission to access your camera, accept this request to continue
  • Hold your National Lottery ticket in front of your phone so that the bottom barcode of the ticket is visible through the scanning camera on your phone
  • The App should automatically scan your ticket and deliver a result

How do I know if I have won?

You will receive an email advising you to check your account. Once you log in there will be a notification about your win; you can also find details of game outcomes in your ‘Tickets’ section.

Is Touch and Face ID available on the App?

TouchID and Face ID is available on the iOS App and touch login is available on the Android App. 

How do I enable Touch and Face ID on my phone?

Apple Phones

You can log into your account through TouchID or Face ID. The first time you log into the App, it should prompt you to enable. Alternatively, log in and tap on My Account. There you can enable or disable TouchID/Face ID. If you need any more help, please call us on 1890 244 344. 

Android Phones

You can log into your account using your device’s fingerprint sensor. The first time you log into the App, it should prompt you to enable. Alternatively, log in and tap on My Account. There you can enable or disable biometrics. If you need any more help, please call us on 1890 244 344. 

I’m having problems verifying my document

Your ID verification process may not have worked due to a number of reasons:

  • Your document may not have been scanned properly due to blur, glare or damage to your ID
  • The selfie match did not correctly match your face to the picture on your document
  • If you are an existing customer, the details on your document do not match what’s registered in our system 

If you are continuing to have problems please call our customer support team on 1890 244 344 who can provide alternative ways to verify your document.

I’m unable to login to the App

If you are an existing player and cannot login to the App using your email or username and password, please try the following:

  • Try to login at www.lottery.ie, if successful accept any prompts that appear and retry in the App 
  • If you still cannot login to the App, please try resetting your password here 

If you continue to have login issues please call our customer support team on 1890 244 344 who will help you access your account. 

How can I stop receiving notifications through the app?

You can disable notifications by changing the settings for the App on your mobile device.

Android Phones

Go to settings and select 'Apps'. Tap on the National Lottery App and then select 'Notifications'. You will be given the option to block all notifications from the App.

Apple Phones

Go to Settings, tap on Notifications and select the National Lottery App. You will see the option to allow or disable notifications for the App.

Why am I getting a location services error message?

You must be located in the Republic of Ireland to login and purchase a National Lottery ticket.

If you are in the Republic of Ireland and receiving a location error message it's possible that location services are turned off on your phone. To change this:

iPhone

Go to Settings>Privacy>Location Services and make sure location services are enabled. Find the National Lottery App and ensure that 'While Using the App' is selected.

Android

Settings vary for each Android device however try locating the National Lottery App settings and ensure that location services are switched on. See How to resolve location accuracy issues on Android devices for more information.
