Top Questions

I am having problems logging into the web site. What am I doing wrong?

There are a couple of things you can check:

  1. Is your password correct? If you've forgotten your password, you can click on the "Forgot Password?" link, which will prompt you for your username and your place of birth. If you answer successfully, a password link will be emailed to your registered email address.
  2. Is your username correct? If you believe you are entering the correct username, or you have forgotten it altogether, contact Customer Support.

How do I unlock my account?

If you have locked your account because you forgot your password, you can click on the reset password option, enter your username and security question answer. A reset password email will be sent to your registered email address and you can reset the password.

If you remember your password but have a locked account, you can contact Customer Support.

How do I add a new payment card?

Please login and select 'My Account' followed by 'Payment Details' in order to add/amend your payment card.

Why can’t I finish my Instant Win game?

When you purchase an Instant Win game online and you are unable to finish it for whatever reason, the ticket is stored in your game history as unfinished.

If you log onto your account and select 'My Account' followed by 'Game History' it will allow you to continue your game where you lost it. Otherwise after 24 hours all "Unfinished" games will auto-complete and you will see any winnings reflected in your online balance.

How do I find details of games I have recently played?

You can view details of all games you have played over the last 121 days. Simply login to your account and select ‘Game history’ from the menu.

How do I claim my prize?

If you have won a prize, congratulations! There are a number of ways you can claim, depending on whether you won in a retail game such as the Lotto, or in an online game. Find out more about how to claim.

How can I check if I have winning numbers?

Go to the results page, and select the game and listed results that you want to check your numbers against. You can check your numbers against recent draws or all draws over the last 90 days. Alternatively, you can scan your ticket by using the National Lottery App.

Where can I find the winning EuroMillions Raffle numbers?

Go to the EuroMillions results page and select ‘€5,000 Winning Ireland Only Raffle Numbers’. The winning Raffle numbers for the draw will be revealed.

Can I set up a direct debit to play?

The option to pay by direct debit is not currently available, however we are hoping to introduce this in the near future. In the meantime, you can play up to 8 draws in advance when playing online.

Playing Online

I forgot my login details. What should I do?

Are there any charges for using a payment card to play online?

The National Lottery and most of the main financial institutions do not charge for uploading funds from your payment card to the Play Online wallet. However, it has been brought to our attention that some payment card providers treat this as a cash advance and charge accordingly. We suggest you check with your payment card provider prior to adding funds to your wallet.

What are the times of operation for Online Play?

The online game facility is available from 7am - 10pm each day for Lotto/Lotto Plus and Daily Million/Daily Million Plus except during draw breaks.

EuroMillions/EuroMillions Plus can be played from 7am - 10pm every day except on Tuesday and Friday when the games close at 7.25pm.

Players can play instant games and have access to their account from 7am - 11pm each evening.

What devices and browsers are supported by Lottery.ie?

How do I know when and how much I've won?

For Instant Games

When you have finished playing a game, a message will indicate if you have won and how much the win was for. You will then be asked if you wish to play again. Upon answering the question, your cash balance on the upper right hand side of the screen will be updated to reflect the results of your latest play. See example.

For Draw Based Games

When you have finished playing a draw game, your ticket will be entered into the draw/s that you had selected for the ticket. If your ticket is a winner on the night of the draw, an email will be sent informing you to check your account. When you log into your account, a notification will be displayed informing you of your winnings. The game outcomes of games you have played online will also be available under ‘Game History’.

How do I claim my winnings?

There are a number of ways to claim your winnings, depending on the prize amount. Refer to How to Claim Your Prize.

Can I see a list of all of the games I've played in the past?

You can see a list of all games played online over the past 90 days. Simply log in to your account and select ‘Game History’ under ‘My Games’.

Why can't I purchase a Lottery ticket over €75?

We are very conscious of responsible play and for that reason we have set a spending limit of €75 per day for online players. If you want to play more lottery lines for draws in advance, we suggest you break up your lines and purchase your online tickets separately over a number of days. Refer to Play Responsibly on spending limits

What payment types can I use to play online?

The National Lottery recognises all debit cards which have been issued by a financial institution within the SEPA territories. A full list of all member states of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is available here.

When can online players use N26 and Revolut to play National Lottery games?

We accept N26 and Revolut with immediate effect.

Why did the National Lottery introduce new ways of accepting payment, in the form of Revolut and N26 now?

We are always looking for ways to improve our player experience, therefore we have taken the decision to accept these payment methods with effect from 4th June 2020.

Registering

Do I have to be a Republic of Ireland resident to open an account?

Yes, in order to register and create an account, you must be a Republic of Ireland resident.

How old do I have to be to register?

To register and play, you must be aged 18 years or older.

Do I have to add money to my wallet when I register?

No. However, in order to begin playing the games and to win prizes, you must add money to your wallet.

Do I need to supply ID when I register?

We need a copy of your passport or driving licence to ensure you are over 18. ID verification is simple and should only take a few minutes. Once we confirm your age, your scanned image will be deleted within 31 days.

How quickly can I play online after registering?

In order to begin playing the games and to win prizes, you must add money to your wallet.

What are spending limits?

Spending limits allow you to limit the amount of money you can spend in a given period (days, weeks or months).

What are locked games?

Locked games are games that you have selected to make unplayable for a defined period of time. If you wish to play a game that has been locked, you must either wait for the reactivation date or contact Customer Support.

How do I close my account?

You can close your account by clicking ‘Close Account’ under ‘My Account’. Any unfinished games will need to be completed and any funds remaining in your wallet will be sent to your postal address by cheque.

Can I withdraw money from my wallet?

You may withdraw all or any Unutilised Funds from the Wallet in your player account. Simply log in and select ‘withdraw funds’ under ‘My Wallet’ and complete the short form. We will then issue such funds to you by cheque, stamped "Account Payee Only".

I transferred too much money to my wallet. Can I cancel the transfer?

Once you confirm the transaction the transfer is in process and may not be cancelled. Please note that when you withdraw funds from your account a cheque will be issued to you from the National Lottery.

My payment card expired. Can I still play games?

As long as you have funds in your wallet you can continue to play games. However, if the card you've registered has expired, you cannot load additional funds to your wallet. To be able to load funds simply go to ‘My Account’ and under ‘My Wallet’ tap ‘Payment details’ where you can edit your card details.

When will money I've transferred to my wallet from my payment card be available to play games?

Once the transaction has been processed successfully, the funds in your wallet will be updated and available for game play immediately.
