Portmagee Celebrates as Local Store Sells €1 Million Lotto Plus One Winning Ticket!
Kerry Lotto player becomes 17th National Lottery Millionaire of 2026
21/07/2026
A family-run store located in the Kerry village of Portmagee, was named as the selling location of Saturday’s winning Lotto Plus One ticket worth €1 Million.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold on Thursday 16th July at DEO’s Shop and Portmagee Post Office in Portmagee, Co. Kerry.
Mark Conway, who has owned the store with his wife Emir since 2003, was delighted to hear about the good news from the weekend, “Myself and my wife took over the store, which was previously owned by her family, almost twenty-three years ago and this marks our biggest win yet! We previously sold a ticket which was worth over €156,000 back in 2022, so we were absolutely thrilled to get another call from the National Lottery to tell us that we have now sold an even bigger prize. Summer is our busiest time of the year with all of the tourists visiting Skellig Michael so we’re hoping the winner, whether they are local or passing through visiting, checks their ticket and realises what they have won very soon!”
The National Lottery is continuing to appeal to players to check their tickets as the winner is yet to come forward.
National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr said, “There’s a brand-new millionaire out there, and they may not even know it yet! We are urging any of our players who visited the beautiful Portmagee area last week and stopped by DEO’s Shop and Post Office to check their Lotto tickets carefully. Not only have they won an incredible €1 Million, but they have also become the 17th National Lottery millionaire of 2026. We can’t wait to welcome them to Lottery HQ to collect their prize. The winner should contact our Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to begin their millionaire journey.”
