A Kildare man recently visited National Lottery HQ to claim his €500,000 EuroMillions Plus top prize after matching all five numbers in the Friday, 18th September draw. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at the Centra Service Station in Clane, Co. Kildare.
"I play the EuroMillions every now and then and, on this particular Friday, I stopped to put fuel in the car and added a last-minute Quick Pick ticket to my purchase. I left the ticket in the car, and completely forgot about it until I was driving to work on the Monday morning. Before heading into the office, I scanned the ticket on the app and discovered I was holding a ticket worth €500,000 that had been sitting in my car all weekend - little did I know!"
After texting his partner the good news, he admitted that it was tough to hide his excitement for the day at work. While he hasn't celebrated the win just yet, the Kildare man is planning to treat himself and his family to a Michelin-star dining experience, something he has always dreamed of.
“We’re definitely going to book a family trip away. In the longer term, we'll take our time and plan for the future. I've always dreamed of owning a Ferrari one day, so I might be one step closer after this win!”
Meanwhile, an online player in Co. Meath is celebrating after matching five numbers and the bonus in Monday night’s (12th October) Lotto draw, securing a prize of €15,037. The winning ticket was purchased on the day of the draw.
