16/01/2025
Lottery HQ was buzzing with excitement as a life-changing prize of €2,000 per month for 5 years has been claimed by a EuroDreams player! The winning ticket was purchased at Tesco, Rathfarnham Shopping Centre, Butterfield Avenue, Dublin 14. The player scooped the Tier 2 prize in a special promotion held for the 31st of October draw, which guaranteed that one EuroDreams player in Ireland would win €2,000 per month for 5 years.
Speaking to the National Lottery, the EuroDreams winner said:
“I had planned on buying a ticket for the Lotto draw, but I realised I left my wallet in the car. Rather than going back to the car, I had enough cash on me to buy a EuroDreams ticket instead – fortunate that I did! I am delighted with today’s win as it will mean I will be able to pay off a substantial amount of my mortgage over the next five years.”
Next in the door, was a Dublin player who claimed their ‘Spar-kling’ prize of €179,677 after matching 5 numbers and one lucky star in the EuroMillions draw on Friday, 10th January. The Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw from Spar, Carpenterstown, Castleknock, Co. Dublin.
The Dublin man said to the National Lottery: “I am still in shock and disbelief; the news is yet to sink in. I think half of the enjoyment will really come from talking about what I might do with the money. I do have a few plans, including an exotic holiday – somewhere off the beaten track and out of the ordinary. While a good portion will be gifted to family as well as to charity.”
A Limerick woman claimed €87,342 after matching 5 numbers plus the bonus on Saturday, 21st December in the main Lotto draw. The woman purchased the ticket in Dunnes Stores, Harveys Quay, Henry Street, Co. Limerick.
Delighted after claiming her prize, the Limerick woman said:
“On the Sunday morning, I checked the tickets and saw I matched 5 numbers – I thought I had won a couple of thousand euros. Then I remembered to check the bonus number – it was then I realised I had won a lot more! My husband and I looked at each other and just laughed. It still hasn’t sunk in, but we have a few ideas on how to use the money – we have a list of renovations around the house that need to be done!”
Darragh O’Dwyer, National Lottery spokesperson said: **“We are thrilled to welcome our winners at Lottery HQ today and to celebrate these fantastic wins with them. Players dreaming of becoming Ireland’s newest EuroDreams winner are reminded that tickets for this evening’s draw can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at http://www.lottery.ie.**”
