A Kildare man was delighted to pop into Lottery Headquarters this week to collect his €1 Million top prize which he won in the Daily Million 9pm draw on Sunday 15th March. The winning ticket was purchased online.
“I got the email to say that I had won over €100 and the first thing I did was check the numbers for the draw. I saw there were two winners of €500 and one winner of the €1 Million in that particular draw. I didn’t want to get carried away immediately, so I was telling myself that it was probably one of the €500 prizes. I logged into my account straight away and of course got the best surprise. I told my girlfriend and she couldn’t believe it!”
The Kildare online winner has already got a few ideas in mind of how to use the top prize win.
“I have always wanted to go to Japan so that’s on the list as well as a new car.”
A Dublin man was still feeling the shock when he arrived at the Winners Room this week to pick up his €500,000 prize from the EuroMillions Plus draw on Tuesday 24th March. His winning ticket was purchased at the Centra store on Dame Street in Dublin 2.
“The first person I told was my wife and at first, she thought it was bad news. When I finally managed to get the words out, I quickly reassured her that it was good news. The shock really took over! We are looking forward to making a few travel plans over the coming months.”
Meanwhile, Wednesday night’s Lotto draw saw a Cork player match five numbers and the bonus to win €37,292. The winning ticket was purchased online on Sunday 29th March.
The winning numbers for the Wednesday 1st April draw were: 08, 16, 26, 32, 40, 45 and the Bonus was 39.
An email has been sent to the Cork winner advising them to check their account. The Wednesday night winner should make contact with the Prize Claims team and arrangements will be made for them to visit National Lottery Headquarters to collect their midweek prize.
National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr said: “Wednesday night’s draw saw over 65,000 players win prizes across the Lotto and Plus draws with an online player in Cork scooping €37,292. As there was no winner of the €5,170,829 jackpot on offer, Saturday’s Lotto jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €5.5 million.”
