When a Milk run leads to a top prize win: Three Scratch Card players claim a total of €725,000 in Lottery Headquarters!

Three National Lottery players recently enjoyed unforgettable visits to Lottery Headquarters as they collected top prizes won on three Scratch Card games.

Leading the celebrations was a player from Sligo, who claimed an incredible €500,000 after winning the top prize on a €500,000 Money Multiplier Scratch Card. The €15 Scratch Card was purchased at Kearns Centra in Rusheen Ard, Caltragh, Co. Sligo.

“It was one of those completely ordinary moments that turned extraordinary. I was waiting in the car and remembered I had a Scratch Card that I'd picked up earlier. When I scratched it, I thought I must be seeing things! My husband took one look and insisted it was a €50,000 prize. It took a lot of checking before we finally accepted that I had actually won the top prize. Then came the excitement of calling family and sharing the incredible news!”

The Sligo winner has already got their sights set on how to put the win to good use.

“A holiday home has always been our long-term dream, but before that we'll be treating the whole family to a fantastic holiday. We can't wait to celebrate together.”

A routine trip to the shops turned into a €150,000 windfall for a Mayo man, who claimed the top prize on a €7 All Cash Vault Scratch Card. The winning ticket was purchased at McGreevy's Newsagents, Bridge Street, Westport, Co. Mayo.

“It all started because we had no milk in the fridge! I’d been working nights and woke up late, so I headed to the shop to pick up a few essentials for breakfast. I grabbed the milk, eggs and juice, and then on a whim decided to pick up an All Cash Vault Scratch Card. Thank goodness we were out of milk, because I never would have gone into the shop otherwise!"

The Mayo winner has already had a busy year of celebrations and looks set to continue planning more.

“We got married earlier this year, so this win has come at the perfect time. We’re already dreaming about a big honeymoon, with the Maldives currently at the top of the list. It still feels surreal. To top it off, I am even thinking about setting up my own business. It’s an incredibly exciting time, and it all happened because we needed a carton of milk.”

A Wicklow player is celebrating a €75,000 win after scooping the top prize on a €5 All Cash Platinum Scratch Card. The ticket was purchased at Centra on Church Road in Greystones, Co. Wicklow.

“I scratched the first game and saw €1,000, which was a lovely surprise on its own. Then I moved on to the second and third games and couldn't believe what I was seeing as the amount kept growing. There were so many zeroes, I had to count them several times to make sure I wasn't imagining it!”

“I sent a photo to a friend after revealing the €1,000 in the first game, and they were amazed. They were even more shocked when I kept sending updates as I uncovered the rest of the prize!”

“I tucked the winning ticket into the middle of a book called ‘The Secret’ for safekeeping. It seemed like the most appropriate place for it!
