One EuroDreams player in Ireland will be screaming with joy this Halloween as GUARANTEED €2,000 a month for 5 years up for grabs!
30/10/2024
The National Lottery has given players even more reason to dream big with an extra special guaranteed prize in the EuroDreams game on Thursday 31st October.
This extra special EuroDreams draw on Halloween night will guarantee that at least one player in Ireland will win the Tier 2 prize of €2,000 per month for 5 years.
National Lottery spokesperson, Emma Monaghan, said: “This Halloween, one EuroDreams player in Ireland is in for a real treat! Thursday’s draw will mark our THIRD Tier 2 promotion of the year following our Leap Day and May Bank Holiday draws earlier this year, which saw players in Dublin and Cork win the annuity prize of €2,000 per month for 5 years. Now, another player in Ireland is guaranteed to have a fang-tastic Halloween night with this wickedly good win! With the special promotion, every winning ticket is entered into a total pool of EuroDreams winners in Ireland and using our certified Random Number Generator, one winner will be selected to win the guaranteed €2,000 per month for 5 years on top of the usual prize that they have won. This means that back in May, our Cork winner won a €2.50 prize as well as the amazing annuity prize of €2,000 per month for 5 years.”

“In addition to the special guaranteed prize, let’s not forget that EuroDreams players are still in with a chance of winning the spine-tingling top prize of €20,000 per month for 30 years. Players dreaming of being the next EuroDreams winner are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through our app and at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales this Thursday.”
Since the EuroDreams game launched in November of last year, there have been three Tier 2 winners in Ireland. As well as the May bank holiday promotion winner from Cork and Leap Day promotion winner from Dublin, a Dublin woman scooped €2,000 per month for 5 years in the first ever draw on Monday 6th November 2023.
How will the special 31st October Tier 2 promotion work?
On Thursday 31st October, any prize winner on any prize tier in the EuroDreams game in Ireland will be entered into a special draw. One of these winners will win the guaranteed annuity prize of €2,000 every month for 5 years, in addition to their usual prize.
How does this bonus draw work?
Each and every winning ticket in Thursday’s (31st October) EuroDreams draw will be entered into a total pool of EuroDreams winners in Ireland and we will utilise our certified RNG (Random Number Generator) to select one of those winners who will, in addition to the usual prize they have won, also win an extra €2,000 per month for 5 years. As with every National Lottery draw, this will be independently observed by our independent monitors, KPMG.
What do I have to do to enter?
Purchase your EuroDreams ticket in the usual manner for the Thursday 31st draw, whether in retail or via our digital channels, and if you’re a winner of any prize in the main draw you’ll also be entered into this bonus draw promotion to win that super bonus annuity prize.
How will I know if I’m the winner?
If you are drawn as the promotional winner with a retail ticket, that winning ticket will be placed on hold. When your ticket is scanned on the National Lottery App or in-store on a National Lottery terminal, a prompt requiring you to make contact with the National Lottery will clearly be displayed.
For digital players, the usual prize for which you were a winner will be credited to your online balance or direct to your card. For the special bonus prize, the National Lottery will contact you directly via phone or email to share the good news.
Are the annuity prizes tax free?
Yes, an annuity prize is a National Lottery Prize and therefore the regular payments are tax free for the recognised individual winner for the duration of the policy (please note this is subject to the applicable tax laws in force).
Can I play the EuroDreams game as part of a syndicate?
No. The nature of the annuity prize means that only one winner is recognised and only one annuity policy is created in that winner’s name. The National Lottery will recognise one winner and the prize paid to that winner is tax free. Consequently, the EuroDreams game is not suitable for syndicate play.
Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish Language. In total, more than €6.5 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 37 years ago. In 2023 alone, €227.9 Million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
