Dream Come Through for Cork & Westmeath EuroDreams Winners!

Two online EuroDreams players from Co. Cork and Co. Westmeath each won the Tier 2 prize worth €2,000 a month for the next five years in the EuroDreams draw on Thursday, 30th July. Both online players have now visited National Lottery HQ to claim their prizes.

Cork Winner

The Cork man is still coming to terms with the fact that he'll receive €2,000 every month for the next five years after landing a EuroDreams Tier 2 prize in the 30th July draw. Unlike many winners who discover their prize straight away, he only realised he had won after hearing from the National Lottery Claims Team.

"I genuinely hadn’t realised I'd won," he said. "The Claims Team were trying to get in touch with me and when they eventually did, I kept checking everything over and over again. I must have looked at it a hundred times and I still couldn't believe it."

The reality of the win only began to sink in when he heard the words he'd never expected to hear.
"When the Claims Team said 'congratulations' on the phone, my reaction was just, 'Oh my God!' It was complete disbelief."

Collecting his prize at National Lottery HQ, the winner said the experience still hadn't fully sunk in, but he is looking forward to putting the monthly payments towards some long-planned home improvements.

"The prize is going towards some major home renovations, so I suppose there will be a few visible signs of the win around the house before long!"

Westmeath Winner

Similar to the Cork winner, the Westmeath player was unaware of their win until they were contacted by the National Lottery Claims Team

"When the Claims Team called me, I wasn't sure what to make of it, so I went and checked everything myself."

After reviewing their National Lottery account and the draw results, the winner realised the news was genuine.
"I checked my account and checked the numbers and realised it was actually true. Getting a phone call to say you've won €2,000 every month isn't something that happens every day, so I was completely shocked."

The winner said the monthly payments will allow them to plan a few extra treats over the coming years, with a winter getaway already high on the agenda.

"I'd love to head away somewhere sunny during the winter months. Dubai is definitely top of the list."

Players dreaming of becoming Ireland’s latest EuroDreams winner are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales this evening.

In total, €7 billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 39 years ago.
