New Lotto Game Changes delivers New Millionaire!

A Lotto Plus player in the Blackrock area of Dublin is certain to be celebrating this week after becoming the first ever Millionaire in the Lotto Plus 2 game.

Saturday night’s draw saw the top prize of €1 Million won for the first time since the game changed earlier this month. Previously, the top prize in Lotto Plus 2 was €250,000. Since the Lotto changes came into effect on Saturday 5th September, the top prize is now €1 Million.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw, which was 12th September, at Spar, Leopardstown Gardens, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.

Shop owner Noel Kenny was delighted to hear the news: “There’s certainly plenty to celebrate around here! We marked 27 years in business back in July, and now we’ve discovered that one of our customers has made Lotto history. After almost three decades serving the community, it’s fantastic to think that the first ever Lotto Plus 2 Millionaire bought their winning ticket right here. We’re thrilled for them and wish them the very best. Hopefully they’ve checked that all-important ticket by now!”

The National Lottery continues to encourage Lotto Plus players to check their tickets very carefully from Saturday’s draw as the winner is yet to come forward.

The winning numbers in Saturday’s 12th September Lotto Plus 2 draw were: 05, 13, 19, 21, 23, 42 and the bonus was 18.

National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr had the following advice for players: “We are urging all of our players who may have popped into the Spar store in Leopardstown Gardens, Blackrock on Saturday to carefully check their tickets today. There is someone out there who now has a ticket worth an incredible €1 Million. The player has become the first person to ever win €1 Million in the Lotto Plus 2 draw, since the game changed just over a week ago. Previously, the top prize in the game was €250,000. Not only that, but the winner has also become the 24th National Lottery Millionaire of the year so far.”

“The winner should sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe. They should contact the National Lottery on 1800 666 222 and arrangements will be made for them to collect their prize in Lottery Headquarters.”
