Athlone Service Station announced as selling location of Wednesday’s €1 Million Lotto ticket!

The weekend has well and truly started in Westmeath today after the Corrib Oil Service Station on the Ballymahon Road in Athlone was named as the selling location of Wednesday’s winning Lotto ticket worth €1 Million.

A Midlands player became the 6th National Lottery millionaire of 2026 after purchasing their winning Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw at the Service Station store to scoop the top prize in Wednesday's Lotto Plus 1 draw.

Gillian Morris, Head of Retail at Corrib Oil, was delighted to hear the good news: “What a Wednesday it turned out to be for one of our customers in Athlone. It must be quite the feeling waking up and realising that you have a Lotto ticket worth €1 million! Our service station on the Ballymahon Road is a busy location so we have been telling all of our customers to check their tickets very carefully. Here’s hoping the winner has since checked their ticket and realises just how much they have won. As this is the biggest win that the store has ever had, our store manager Áine and the entire team were all thrilled to hear the news. We all wish the winner the very best with their win!”

The National Lottery is continuing to appeal to Westmeath players to check their tickets very carefully from the midweek draw as one person now has a ticket worth €1 Million. The winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe. They should make contact with the Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to collect their top prize amount at Lottery Headquarters.

National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr had the following advice for the winner: “There could be a player out there who has no idea just how much their ticket is worth. The ticket could be in a wallet or tucked away at home since the draw, so we are advising any of our players who popped into Corrib Oil to purchase their Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw to carefully check their tickets. The winner should remain calm, sign their ticket and make contact with our Prize Claims team as soon as possible so that they can make their arrangements to visit the Winners Room to collect their prize.”
