A Lotto player in Kildare had plenty to celebrate following the midweek draw after matching five numbers and the bonus to win an incredible €338,152. The winning ticket was purchased on Saturday, 28th February, at Brett’s Centra on the Melitta Road in Kildare Town.
The winning numbers in the Wednesday, 4th March, draw were: 05, 08, 11, 25, 27, 37 and the Bonus was 02.
The Kildare winner has since made contact with the National Lottery Prize Claims team and arrangements are now being made for them to visit Lottery Headquarters to collect their prize.
National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr said: “Wednesday’s Lotto draw saw over 66,000 players nationwide win prizes across the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws with a player in Kildare becoming the biggest winner of the night. While there was no winner of the €2,293,415 jackpot on offer for the midweek draw, Saturday’s jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €2.5 million.”
Meanwhile, two Daily Million syndicates from Kildare and Donegal arrived at Lottery Headquarters this week to claim their top prize amounts from February draws.
On 16th February, a Kildare syndicate had a memorable start to their week after scooping the top prize of €1 million in the 9pm Monday night draw. Their winning ticket was purchased online.
“Can you believe that I thought we had won €1,000 initially. Even at that, I was in shock and then I looked a little closer. I told the rest of the syndicate, who of course, didn’t believe me. They waited for me to call the Claims team to get the prize confirmed before getting ahead of themselves with the celebrations.”
The Kildare winners have already started to think about what to do with their windfall.
“Looking after family is the first thing we’ll do. I would absolutely love to buy a place in Spain as well. The promise of sunshine would be the ultimate dream!”
A Donegal syndicate were the next Daily Million Plus winners in with a ticket worth an incredible €500,000. The top prize winners purchased their ticket for the 9pm draw on Sunday, 22nd February, draw at Umricam Filling Station in Buncrana.
“I got into the car on the Monday morning and pulled out my wallet to look for something. I saw the ticket so said I’d check it quickly before driving off, and sure didn’t I have to run straight back into the house to share the news. It definitely wasn’t how I saw my week starting!”
“Ever since the draw, I’ve been checking on the ticket every night before bed to make sure it’s exactly where I’d hidden it. Handing it over is a great sense of relief!”
A Dublin syndicate were delighted to hear Declan Buckley call their last number out during Telly Bingo on Thursday, 26th February. The winners were watching the show live and went on to win the incredible €60,000 Snowball prize that day, as well as their €5 Lucky Line. Their winning ticket was purchased at the Centra store at 121 Capel Street in Dublin 1.
“We were playing together that day and when Declan called the last number we were waiting on, we just looked at each other. A holiday is the first plan of action with this win, as well as doing a few updates around the house that I have had on the list for a while now.”
Finally, Friday’s EuroMillions jackpot is set to roll towards an estimated €195 million. Players dreaming of weekend celebrations are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales tomorrow evening.
