“The spuds nearly went flying out the window” – Three National Lottery players share their excitement after claiming their prizes in Lottery Headquarters!
ANOTHER chance to win €30,000 per month for 30 years in tonight’s EuroDreams draw

Winners from all over Ireland have made the trip to Lottery Headquarters this week to claim prizes across a range of draw and Scratch Card games.
Claiming the largest cheque of the week, a Lotto syndicate from Cork made their way, bursting with excitement, to the National Lottery’s Winners Room, as they collected their prize of €164,156. Their winning ticket, which matched five numbers and the bonus in the 20th September Lotto draw, was purchased at Lidl Ballyvolane on the Ballyhooly Road.
The head of the syndicate shared the unforgettable moment they discovered the win, “I hadn’t checked the ticket until the next evening, when I heard there’d been a win in Cork. My partner was at the kitchen sink peeling spuds for dinner when I called her over to read out the numbers. When she realised we’d won, well, the spuds nearly went flying out the window! It was absolutely priceless.”
The group described the win as a complete shock, but one that quickly turned into excitement and plans for the future. One member shared, “I’ve always dreamed of going on a cruise, and now it’s finally going to happen. That’s top of my list!” Another added, “There are a few home improvements I’ve been putting off for years so I can’t wait to finally get them done”.
A Kerry man was thrilled to visit the Winners Room to collect a cheque worth €100,000 after scooping the top prize amount on a €5 Money Multiplier Scratch Card. The winner admitted to being in disbelief when he revealed the Top Prize amount after purchasing the winning ticket at Daybreak on Castle Street in Tralee.
“I scratched the ticket and immediately couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I’ll never forget that it was the very first winning number on Row 1 that had the €100,000. I spent a few hours in total shock and when it finally sunk in, I decided to hide the Scratch Card in my wardrobe where it has safely stayed until today. I can’t really believe that I’m here!”
A woman from Co. Tipperary has claimed the top prize of €45,000 from the Ruby & Emerald Scratch Card, which she purchased at SuperValu, Nenagh.
Sharing the moment she discovered the win, she said, “I’d bought the Scratch Card the weekend before and completely forgot about it. Days later, I found it tucked away in a drawer, so while I was all cosy in bed, I decided to scratch it, not expecting what was about to happen”
She laughed as she described the shock, “It took my eyes ages to believe what they were seeing - €45,000! I shot upright in bed, staring at the card, reading and re-reading it in total disbelief. You can imagine, there wasn’t much sleep had that night. I was absolutely buzzing!”
Now with her prize in hand, the Tipperary woman is planning a scenic getaway and looking forward to a shopping spree.
Dream Bigger with EuroDreams - €30,000 a Month for 30 Years
Meanwhile, the EuroDreams top prize is STILL boosted to an incredible €30,000 per month for 30 years.
A special event in the game, which began on Thursday 2nd October, means that the top prize will remain boosted to €30,000 per month for 30 years until it is won.
The EuroDreams Tier 1 prize is typically €20,000 per month for 30 years but during this special game event, players have the chance to win even bigger than usual.
The game mechanics remain the same, players must match all six winning numbers and the Dream number to win the top prize.
EuroDreams is the first annuity game of its’ kind ever to be seen in Ireland and unlike any other draw-based game, winners receive monthly tax-free payments instead of one lump sum. The Tier 1 prize is typically €20,000 per month for 30 years, totalling €7.2 Million. The Tier 2 prize is €2,000 per month for 5 years, totalling €120,000.
If the Top Prize is not won tonight, the boosted prize event will continue until there is a winner.
Last month, an online player in Wicklow became the first EuroDreams Irish winner of the Tier 1 prize, while eight Tier 2 winners have also won prizes in Dublin (4), Kerry (2), Cork (1) and Wicklow (1).
EuroDreams is played in eight countries, namely Ireland, Austria, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland, with draws taking place every Monday and Thursday evening.
Players dreaming of celebrating after tonight’s draw are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales this evening.
Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total, more than €6.5 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 37 years ago. In 2024 alone, €239.3 Million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
