There were cheers and celebrations to be heard in Dublin 12 today after it was announced that the Spar store at 178/180 Whitehall Road West in Perrystown sold the winning Lotto Plus 1 ticket from Saturday’s draw (18th April) worth an incredible €1 Million.
Store owner Kieren Furey was delighted to hear that his store sold the top prize winning ticket from the weekend.
“Our family-run store has been here for 27 years, and this win marks the largest that we have ever had. I just know that all of our staff will be over the moon to hear that one of our customers has won €1 Million. I wish the winner all the very best with their win – what a week they are having!”
The National Lottery has confirmed that Ireland’s newest Millionaire has made contact, and arrangements are now being made for them to visit Lottery Headquarters.
Meanwhile, a Westmeath man was over the moon to visit the Winners room to pick up his €1 Million top prize from the 9pm Daily Million draw on 30th March. The winning ticket was purchased at Supervalu, Monksland Retail Centre in Athlone.
“I only play the Daily Million game now and again, so I didn’t even realise there had been a top prize win that night. It still doesn’t feel real! I have a few plans in mind for the win. Doing up the garden has been on the list for a while, but I know that I will definitely help family out too. A bit of travelling would be nice – I’d love to visit Canada and America.”
A Meath syndicate were overjoyed to make the trip to the Winners Room to pick up their €80,412 Match 5 prize from the 14th April EuroMillions draw. Their Quick Pick ticket was purchased from Gillen’s Londis, Dublin Road in Trim, Co. Meath.
“I was watching the football the following day and at half time, I said I’d check our ticket. I sent a screenshot to the rest of the syndicate of the ‘You’ve won Big’ message that popped up. I was calm but the rest of them couldn’t believe it. The number of times they asked if I was winding them up!”
The syndicate are taking their time to make their plans for the win but know how to get started.
“Our partners are the only other people who know. We haven’t made any definite plans yet, but I think a holiday would be top of the list. Who knows, maybe we’ll get back here again someday too!”
