A Limerick player has claimed the top prize of €100,000 in the Lotto Pick and Play Plus 2 draw on Monday, 19th October. The player matched all five numbers in the six number game with a ticket purchased online on the day of the draw and has since visited National Lottery headquarters to collect their prize.
The win marks the first €100,000 Lotto Pick and Play Plus 2 top prize claim since game enhancements were introduced in early September. As part of the refresh, the number of balls in the Lotto draw was reduced from 47 to 45, with numbers 46 and 47 officially retiring from the game.
Speaking after the claim, the winner said the reality of the win was still sinking in. "Once the excitement settles down, I'll be doing a bit of car shopping and looking after family. It's great to be in a position to share something like this with the people closest to me!"
Dublin Winner Maps Out European Getaway After €89,256 Lotto Win The Limerick winner wasn't the only player celebrating at National Lottery headquarters. A Dublin player who won €89,256 after matching 5 numbers and the bonus in the Lotto draw on 10th October also recently claimed their prize and already has plans for the winnings.
An avid traveller, the Dublin winner said the prize will help fuel future adventures. "When I told a friend I'd won, the first thing they asked was: 'So where are you off to now?' That probably says everything you need to know about me."
The winner described collecting the cheque as a surreal experience.
"The whole journey in to claim the prize felt unreal. I kept thinking: 'Is this actually happening?"
"I've always wanted to explore more of Europe and now I can actually start planning. There isn't one destination at the top of the list just yet. That's the best part. I can take out a map and decide where to go next."

The ticket was purchased during the height of summer in one of Clare's busiest tourist areas, so we're appealing not only to local players but also to anyone who may have been visiting or passing through the area at the time." "Now is the time to do one final check. Look through old jackets, handbags, wallets, the car, the back of the sofa, drawers and even holiday luggage.
