From Matchmaking to Millionaire-Making! Lisdoonvarna Celebrates New Lotto Plus Millionaire

While thousands gathered in Lisdoonvarna over the weekend in search of their perfect partnership, one Lotto Plus winner in Clare found a match of a different kind on Saturday night.

A Banner County player became the newest Lotto Plus Millionaire after scooping €1 Million in a special Guaranteed Millionaire event in Saturday night’s draw.

The winning Lotto Plus ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at Spar Lisdoonvarna, Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare.

Shop owner Megan White was delighted to hear about the win, especially with it coming at such an important time of year for Lisdoonvarna: “What a weekend to become a Lisdoonvarna Lotto winner! It’s the first week of the famous match-making festival which the entire community gets involved with. There’s a great buzz already amongst the town as the festivities get underway, both with customers and surrounding businesses, and this news is sure to add even more. We wish the winner all the very best with their win and hopefully they check their ticket soon!”

Guaranteed Millionaire and Additional Lotto Plus prizes Saturday night’s Lotto draw included a special Guaranteed Millionaire event to celebrate the first draw of the enhanced Lotto format which now includes 45 balls.

Every Lotto Plus ticket that won a prize on either of the Lotto Plus One or Lotto Plus Two draws on Saturday night was entered into the special draw. One ticket (purchased at Spar Lisdoonvarna) was then selected to win a Guaranteed €1 Million, in addition to their original prize amount.       As part of the celebratory event, there were further additional prizes up for grabs for Lotto Plus players. This saw 43 winning Lotto Plus tickets selected to win an additional amount of €10,092, on top of their original prize.  

How will Lotto Plus winners know if they have won an additional prize? When winners’ check their retail-purchased tickets, either on the app or in-store, they will be advised to contact the National Lottery to learn more about the status of their ticket. They should then call the Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 and their exact prize amount will be confirmed.    For online Lotto Plus winners who won an additional prize, the Prize Claims team will contact them directly. 

Meanwhile, two Lotto players in Kilkenny and Limerick matched five numbers and the bonus in the main draw to win €40,215 each.

The winning Quick Pick tickets were both purchased on the day of the draw. The Kilkenny winner scooped their €40,215 amount after purchasing their ticket at M&A Supermarkets on the Main Street in Mooncoin. The Limerick Match 5+Bonus winner purchased their ticket at SuperValu Limerick in the Castletroy Shopping Centre in Castletroy.

The winning numbers in the Saturday 5th September Lotto draw were: 08, 11, 15, 21, 33, 44 and the bonus was 14.

The celebrations didn't stop there, with 43 Lotto Plus players nationwide also winning additional prizes of €10,092 each. And that's still not all. Two Lotto players in Kilkenny and Limerick each landed €40,215 after matching five numbers and the bonus in the main draw.”
