Fancy waking up a MILLIONAIRE on Valentine’s Day?
Cavan syndicate claim €1 Million top prize from New Year’s Eve Millionaire Raffle
12/02/2026
Valentine’s Day is certain to be even more memorable than usual for one EuroMillions player in Ireland as this Friday’s draw is GUARANTEED to see one player scoop an incredible €1,005,000 in the Ireland Only Raffle.
As with every EuroMillions draw, ten players will win €5,000 in the Raffle with their unique Raffle number. However, this Friday, those ten winning tickets will then be entered into a once-off random draw where one ticket will be selected to win an additional €1 million.
With excitement growing ahead of the draw, players dreaming of weekend celebrations are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales this Friday.
National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr had the following advice for players: “This Friday will mark our first special EuroMillions Ireland-Only Raffle of the year, which is guaranteed to see one player win €1,005,000. Not only that, but the winner could also see themselves take the title of first National Lottery millionaire of 2026. Valentine’s Day will certainly be even more special than usual for one player who will wake up as a Millionaire!”
Meanwhile, a Cavan syndicate had a unique start to the year after scooping the top prize of €1 million in the New Year’s Eve Millionaire Raffle draw. The winners were delighted to claim their prize this week after purchasing their winning ticket at Cullies Maxol on the Ballyhaise Road in Cavan.
“What a way to start 2026! We checked the ticket on New Year’s Day and couldn’t believe it. We were double and triple checking the results to be certain. Since then, the ticket has been kept safely in an old phone box that I have carried with me everywhere. I even brought it to bed every night because I didn’t want it out of sight for too long.”
The winners are already in the midst of making big plans for their winnings.
“Buying a house is the top priority for this year but I think planning a holiday will certainly be on the list now as well – and thinking about flying first class for a change!”
