A Dublin woman is sure to have that Friday feeling after visiting Lottery Headquarters this week to claim an incredible €100,000, which she won on a €5 Money Multiplier Scratch Card. The winning ticket was purchased at The Abbey Newsagent on the Drimnagh Road in Walkinstown, Dublin 12.
Speaking of the exact moment when she realised just how much she had won, the winner admitted she could not get home quick enough.
“I scratched the ticket on the bus and never in a million years expected to see €100,000 looking back at me. Staying calm and not giving anything away wasn’t easy and all I could think of was how I needed to get home immediately to hide this Scratch Card. I didn’t want to risk anything happening to the ticket, so it really felt like it was the longest journey home that day. As soon as I got in the door, I hid it up the top of my wardrobe and I haven’t told anyone about it ever since.”
The Scratch Card winner is looking forward to enjoying a bit of luxury during the summer with her win.
“Planning a summer holiday is the first thing I’ll do, and I’ve already decided that I’ll be treating myself and arriving in style…Business Class, here I come!”
An online player from Cork with dreams of travelling the world has realised that reality, after winning €100,000 in the Millionaire Raffle on New Year’s Eve. Collecting their cheque at National Lottery HQ, the player said they’ll soon be packing their bags and travelling to far-flung destinations around the world.
“I got the initial notification and assumed I’d won €100. Then I looked again and said to myself, ‘No, you won €100,000!’ The penny really dropped when I started thinking about all the travelling I can actually do now. That’s always been a dream of mine.”
A Limerick woman claimed the Telly Bingo Snowball Prize of €45,005 from the 19th December draw after purchasing her ticket from the Gala store on the Main Street in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick.
“I was sitting in the car with a couple of minutes to spare, so I whipped out my phone, found a pen, and started playing Telly Bingo. As I was ticking the numbers off, I was growing more and more in disbelief. I could have done with a magnifying glass to double check them all!”
She immediately phoned her husband, who replied, “Go away from me, that couldn’t be right!” After double and triple checking, she was thrilled to confirm her win. “I had to hide the ticket somewhere safe, and I won’t lie, I’ve accidentally hidden things on myself in the past. This time my husband took charge and hid it in a new razor box. He said putting it in the safe was far too obvious!”
The Limerick woman enjoyed a wonderful Christmas celebrating her Snowball win and now hopes to put her windfall towards some home renovations.
