This weekend is certain to be filled with celebrations for one EuroMillions player in Ireland as this Friday’s draw is GUARANTEED to see one player scoop an incredible €1,005,000 in the Ireland Only Raffle.
As with every EuroMillions draw, ten players will win €5,000 in the Raffle with their unique Raffle number. However, this Friday, those ten winning tickets will then be entered into a once-off random draw where one ticket will be selected to win an additional €1 Million.
National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr had the following advice for players: “There’s a guaranteed Irish Millionaire waiting to be made this Friday. While most of us will be looking forward to the weekend, one EuroMillions player in Ireland will be celebrating a €1 Million win following Friday’s special Ireland Only Raffle. Players dreaming of becoming Ireland’s newest Millionaire are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales this Friday.”
Meanwhile, a Wicklow syndicate were delighted to visit the Winners Room in Lottery Headquarters to collect their €500,000 top prize from the EuroMillions Plus draw on Tuesday 11th August. Their winning ticket was purchased at the Applegreen M11 Wicklow, Cullenmore Service Station, Junction 14, Coyne’s Cross, Cullenmore, Co. Wicklow.
“I checked the ticket the morning after the draw and got the message to contact the National Lottery. When the Claims team confirmed the win, I just couldn’t believe it. For some reason, I kept thinking that it would be something like €25,000. I don’t know why but I just couldn’t believe that it was €500,000! Even when I hung up the phone, we continued questioning it. How could this be real?”
“We will have a think about cars, trips and all of the great things we can do with this win in the near future but this week, our main concern has been getting to the Winners Room and seeing our cheque, so that we can start to believe that this is real!”
