Cork Syndicate Celebrates €5.6 Million Lotto Jackpot Win with Dream Mediterranean Cruise
Guaranteed Irish Millionaire in Tonight’s EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle
30/10/2026
A Cork syndicate is celebrating after claiming a €5.6 Million Lotto Jackpot prize, won with a Quick Pick ticket purchased during a shopping trip in Cork city earlier this month. The Cork syndicate won the €5,664,896 Jackpot prize in the main Lotto draw on 7th October. The syndicate became the first Lotto Jackpot winner since the game changes were introduced in early September. The Lotto refresh saw the number of balls reduced from 47 to 45, with numbers 46 and 47 officially retiring from the game.
The syndicate purchased their winning ticket at Eason, Mahon Point Shopping Centre in Cork City. While passing through the city, the head of the syndicate stopped at Mahon Point Shopping Centre to do a bit of shopping and browse for a book in the Eason store. Just before checking out, they decided to add a Lotto Quick Pick, never imagining it would lead to a multi-million euro win!
Recalling the moment they realised they had won, the head of the syndicate said:
"We got the numbers up and started checking them one by one. As they kept matching, it slowly started to sink in that something unbelievable was happening."
After confirming the win, the news was quickly shared with the rest of the syndicate members.
"I sent a message into the group chat and it just erupted – our phones wouldn't stop buzzing from phone calls to messages. Everyone was in complete disbelief!"
While the syndicate is still coming to terms with their newfound wealth, they say taking a dream Mediterranean cruise and spending time with family and friends are among their first plans.
