From Buying Chocolate Factories to Exploring The Seven Wonders - Irish Euromillions Players Share Their Boldest Dreams Ahead of Tonight’s €250 Million Jackpot!
13/06/2025
The National Lottery has today (Friday, 13th June) revealed a survey of what Irish players would do if they won a large Jackpot, ahead of tonight’s EuroMillions Jackpot which is capped at €250 Million. The results from the survey, show a nation full of heart, hope and generosity. From supporting family and community to chasing life-long passions, here’s what Irish players say they’d do with a large Jackpot win.
• Generosity at the Core: Ireland’s giving spirit shines through, with over half (52%) saying they’d donate between 10–25% of their winnings to others. The average donation? A generous 23.8%. • Family First: A remarkable two-thirds of respondents said they’d buy a house for every member of their family – proving that when it comes to dreaming big, loved ones come first. • Ticket to the World: Travel is a top dream for many, with 64% saying they’d explore the world. Over half (52%) would visit places they’ve only dreamed of—like the Seven Wonders of the World—while a bold 2% would take their adventure to the next level and head to outer space! • From Day Jobs to Dream Jobs: Two-thirds (66%) would change careers if they won, with many saying they’d finally pursue their dream job or passion project.
When asked what’s the wackiest thing they’d spend their winnings on, Irish players didn’t disappoint. Some dreamt big - like building a three-bedroom house just for their dog or buying an entire airport to ensure they could travel at a moment's notice. Others leaned into luxury, with one respondent planning to install a gold toilet “because why not?” while another envisioned constructing a private golf course for the ultimate tee-time anytime. And for those with a sweet tooth, owning a personal chocolate factory was high on the wish list.
Darragh O’Dwyer, National Lottery spokesperson said:
"With the EuroMillions Jackpot now capped at an extraordinary €250 Million, we’re seeing dreams take flight - both big and small. From building homes for loved ones to planning once-in-a-lifetime adventures, this survey shows just how imaginative and generous Irish players are when it comes to dreaming big. And with the Jackpot at its maximum, any additional prize money that would normally increase the Jackpot, will now flow down to increase the value of the next prize tier at which there are winner(s) meaning possibly more chances for life-changing wins. If there’s no Jackpot winner tonight, the prize will stay at €250 Million for up to two more draws, culminating in a Must Be Won draw on Friday, 20th June. It’s an incredibly exciting time to play.”
The EuroMillions Jackpot reached its maximum cap on Friday, 6th June 2025, meaning this extraordinary prize cannot grow any further. But here’s the exciting part: on draws at cap, any excess money that would usually be allocated to the Jackpot will flow down to the next prize level at which there are winner(s).
If no one wins the Top Prize in tonight's EuroMillions draw, the Jackpot will remain at €250 Million for up to two more draws before it must be won on Friday 20th June. If no one matches all seven numbers on the fifth draw, then the entire Jackpot will roll down to the next prize level at which there are winner(s).
Players are reminded that tickets for tonight’s draw can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at http://www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales on tonight's draw.
Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language.
