High tier National Lottery winners to claim prizes via postal process

The National Lottery has confirmed that all top tier prize winners may be processed via an approved postal process due to Government restrictions currently in place.

Prize winners of €15,000 and over (€10,000 for online players) are encouraged to contact the National Lottery Claims Department by calling 1800 666 222 or by emailing claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for the prize to be paid through the approved postal claims process. This process is applicable to all National Lottery prize winners in Draw Based Games (Lotto, EuroMillions, DailyMillion, TellyBingo etc) and all National Lottery scratch card and online games.

As per our usual claims process, prizes up to and including €100 may be claimed at any National Lottery agent store across the country. Agents may pay higher prizes (up to and including €2,500) at their discretion. An Post Prize Claim Centres guarantee payment of prizes less than €15,000.

The National Lottery reminds all players to keep their tickets safe, and to continue to heed the advice of Government and practise social and physical distancing if they are collecting prizes in store.

I have won a prize above €15,000 (€10,000 for online). What do I need to do?

I have won a prize below this threshold, but my local shop is not able to pay out on the prize?

National Lottery retailers will pay out on any prizes up to and including €100. Agents may pay higher prizes (up to and including €2,500) at their discretion. Your local An Post Prize Claim Centres  guarantee payment of prizes less than €15,000.

What if my local An Post Prize Claim Centre is outside the permitted 5km travel limit?

If you have any queries with regards to claiming a prize or indeed should your An Post Prize Claim Centre fall outside the permitted boundary of 5km, you are encouraged to contact the National Lottery Claims Department and arrangements will be made for you to claim your prize.

Can large prizes still be claimed at National Lottery headquarters?

No. Due to Government restrictions currently in place, the National Lottery HQ in Dublin city is currently closed to members of the public. All prizes over €15,000 (€10,000 for online) can be claimed via the approved postal system.

Does this same claims process apply to online winners?

Players who have registered with an online account and choose to play through our website www.lottery.ie or on the app can claim their prizes in the following ways:

• Prize amounts from €1 - €99 will automatically be transferred to your online wallet. You may withdraw any unused funds at any time by logging in and selecting 'My Account' followed by 'Withdraw' and the specified amount will be issued by cheque, stamped “Account Payee Only”, to the address specified in your Player Account.
• For prize amounts from €100 up to €500, a cheque will automatically be sent by post to your registered address.
• If you win a prize from €501 up to €9,999, you will be contacted by the National Lottery who will verify your age and identification details and send out a Claim Form for completion before a cheque is issued.
• For prizes of €10,000 and above, you must contact the National Lottery Claims Department by calling 1800 666 222 or by emailing claims@lottery.ie.
   

What about scratch card winners?

Scratch card prize winners can avail of the exact same postal prize payment process. Prize winners of €15,000 and over are encouraged to contact the National Lottery Claims Department by calling 1800 666 222 or by emailing claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for the prize to be paid.
