Lucky Limerick College Student Lands €30k Scratch Card Win

One happy visitor to the National Lottery Winner’s Room this week was a young Limerick man who travelled to Dublin on the train to claim a top prize scratch card win. His luck was in as he scratched his way to a €30,000 windfall on an All Cash Tripler scratch card purchased in O’Neill’s Mace on William Street in Limerick city, a shop where, by chance, he also works!

The shop assistant in his twenties who has chosen to remain anonymous was still stunned after winning one of the top prizes the All Cash Tripler game has to offer. The reason he was so shocked was that he almost threw the golden ticket away as he had forgotten to scratch the second game at the bottom of the card.

The relieved man said: “I had scratched the card and thought I had won nothing but I scanned the ticket out of habit from working in retail. A message came up on screen to contact the National Lottery. I thought that was very strange so I took a closer look and realised I had forgotten the second game. Still that didn’t prepare me for the shock I got when I saw it was thirty grand”.

When asked about what he will do with his lucky winning, he said he was going to put it towards college fees, as he is currently on “a year out”, and is starting back again next September. He is also planning on treating himself a nice holiday before Christmas.
