LIMERICK LOTTO PLAYER WINS €4.3 MILLION

A lucky Lotto player from Limerick woke up this sunny Sunday Bank Holiday a sizzling €4.3 million richer after scooping last night’s mega Bank Holiday jackpot.

And in what has been a bumper weekend for the National Lottery Lotto players from Leitrim and Louth also won €106,121 each after matching five numbers plus the bonus.

The golden winning Quick Pick Lotto jackpot ticket worth €4,325,656 was sold at Whitty’s Mace supermarket in Caherdavin, Co. Limerick. The thrilled store owner, DJ Whitty, said today: “I cannot believe it. When the call came through last night I was in shock. This is the second Lotto jackpot-winning ticket we’ve sold in our 21 years in business here. It is fantastic for the town of Caherdavin and there’s a great buzz around the town this morning. I’ve no idea who the winner is but we hope it is one of our local customers.”

This is the 5th Lotto jackpot win of 2018 and the 60th to have been won by Limerick players since the National Lottery began more than thirty years ago. Between them, these lucky Limerick jackpot winners have won an incredible €78,722,887.

The National Lottery today appealed to all its Limerick players to check their tickets to see if they have hit this dream-like jackpot. The winning numbers were: 1, 7, 10, 17, 35, 37 and bonus number was 43.

Meanwhile, two other Lotto players in Louth and Leitrim came one number short of sharing the jackpot, but still bagged themselves a cool €106,121 each. These winners bought their Quick Pick tickets at Mulvey’s House of Gifts, on Main Street, Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim and at the Lidl store on the Dublin Road in Ardee, Co Louth.

This is the first big Lotto win in a Lidl store since National Lottery games have been available in the group.

This has been an incredible weekend for National Lottery players. This mega Lotto payout comes after a EuroMillions player from Tramore, Waterford scored big on Friday after becoming an instant millionaire after winning €1 million on the EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle. That ticket was sold at the Tramore Service Station on the Waterford Road. Also on Friday a lucky player won a cool €500,000 on Daily Million Plus on a ticket sold at the Newsstand Store on Market Square, Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

Speaking on the bumper National Lottery Bank Holiday weekend, Dermot Griffin, CEO of the National Lottery said: “What a June Bank Holiday weekend it has been for our players with the National Lottery giving away more than €6 million. This latest €4.3 million Lotto jackpot win is our fifth of 2018. We are asking all of our Limerick players to check their tickets and if they are the lucky ticketholder, sign the back of the ticket and keep it safe and contact the National Lottery Prize Claims team on 01 836 4444. We are open from 9.15am on Tuesday and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize”.
