Dublin work syndicate claim €88.5 million EuroMillions Jackpot win

Life may never be the same again for the lucky members of a Dublin work syndicate who collected their cheque for the illustrious €88,587,275 EuroMillions jackpot from the Tuesday 24 January draw yesterday (Thursday 09 February).

The whopping €88.5 million jackpot win is the third largest ever EuroMillions win in Ireland. The winning ticket was sold at the Applegreen Motorway Services station on the M1 Northbound in Lusk, Co. Dublin.

I scanned the ticket on the National Lottery App and a message flashed up which told me that I had to contact the National Lottery. When I checked the numbers, I was speechless, I couldn’t believe it.

A spokesperson for the syndicate said, ‘We are absolutely delighted. We all have bills to pay with mortgages, loans and whatnot so we are looking forward to the financial freedom that comes with a win of this magnitude,’ they said.

‘We will be having a quiet party with family and friends to celebrate our good fortune. We will not be getting carried away with our win and we will return to normal everyday life as soon as possible. We’re looking forward to enjoying the win with our families and we might indulge by booking our sun holidays in the next couple of days,’ added the spokesperson.

This is the third EuroMillions jackpot win in Ireland in the last twelve months.

The syndicate learned of their win on the night of the EuroMillions draw when one of the syndicate members checked the winning ticket on their phone, ‘I was aware that the EuroMillions jackpot was won in Ireland so I had to check the ticket straight away. I scanned the ticket on the National Lottery App and a message flashed up which told me that I had to contact the National Lottery. When I checked the numbers, I was speechless, I couldn’t believe it. It was such an incredible feeling,’ they added.
