National Lottery players kick-off their week in style by claiming €882,772 in prize money

It was a very memorable Monday for four very lucky National Lottery players who claimed a combined total of €882,772 in prize money from Lotto, EuroMillions and National Lottery scratch card games.

First into the National Lottery Claims Department today were a husband and wife who collected a cheque for a whopping €500,000 after they hit the top prize on the EuroMillions Plus draw on Friday, November 11.

The winning couple who wish to remain private bought their normal play ticket at the Garlow Cross Shop in Navan, Co. Meath.

With Christmas approaching, the married couple stated that the money would go a long way to making sure that they have the perfect Christmas,

"I’m going to bring him up to do some of my Christmas shopping in Brown Thomas as soon as we lodge the cheque, [then] we’re going straight to the bank to pay off our mortgage. We have two young children so we will be putting money aside for them. We will take some time away and enjoy the win with the whole family".

Also winning big today was a delightful mother and daughter from Co. Mayo who took some time out of their Dublin shopping trip to pick up a cheque for €200,000 which they won on a €10 All Cash Spectacular scratch card.

The winning scratch card was bought at the Quay Centra Store in Westport, Co. Mayo.

Speaking about her mother’s massive win, the delighted daughter said that there was nobody as deserving of such a win than her mother,

"My mam is one of the most selfless people you could ever meet. She may not always have a lot of money but anything she’d have, she’d always be helping other people out. We will make sure that she enjoys her win and focuses on treating herself for a change".

It was a case of déjà vu for another lucky Lotto player who visited the National Lottery Winner’s Room to claim his Match 5 + Bonus prize of €132,772 from Saturday (19 November) Lotto draw.

Remarkably, the lucky man had previously won the Lotto jackpot with his old work syndicate in the early 2000’s. The winning normal play ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at Hillcrest NewsAgents in the Hillcrest Shopping Centre in Lucan. He said:

"It’s good to be back in the National Lottery offices after all this time.

"We won the Lotto jackpot as a large syndicate a good number of years ago. It wasn’t a massive amount of money but it was a fantastic experience. I’m retired now so I’ve already promised that most of this money will go towards my grandchildren and their futures".

Finally today, Tallaght native, Janis Doroskevics (image attached) celebrated in style as he won €50,000 on his All Cash Extravaganza scratch card. The €20 scratch card was purchased at the Kilmacud Service Station in Stillorgan, Co. Dublin.
