Lucky, lucky Laois

Lucky, lucky Laois

Two National Lottery players from Co. Laois have won a whopping, combined total, of €750,000 across Lotto and EuroMillions.

A lucky Laois woman discovered the recipe for a perfect Easter when she discovered she had won a huge €250,000 on the Lotto Plus Jackpot while she was prepping the family Easter Sunday dinner!

The mother, from Abbeyleix, was busy in her kitchen when her son read on Facebook that a winning ticket had been sold in her local shop, Clelands.

“The excitement was something else, I went into pure shock. I rang my husband straight away, but he didn’t believe me at all, and just asked what time dinner was at!”

The happy winner added: ‘I had the whole family over for Easter dinner that day, all the kids and grandchildren and it was just fantastic. We are all looking forward to enjoying the prize as a family, and putting it to go use in the coming weeks’.

This has been a lucky week for Laois which claimed another lucky winner(s) in the Euromillions Draw on Tuesday 18th, with one player scooping the Euromillions Plus prize of €500,000. The winning ticket was sold in Thomas Treacy Daybreak, in Emo, Portlaoise Co. Laois.
