Kildare mother wins quarter of a million euro

It’s a very happy Monday for a married woman from Kildare. She picked up a cheque for €250,000 this morning at National Lottery offices (10/10/2016) after winning the prize in Saturday night’s Lotto Plus 2 draw.

The lucky woman was watching the Lotto draw on Saturday night with her husband and noticed the numbers drawn from the Lotto Plus 2 draw drum looked very familiar.

“I checked my ticket and there were the numbers. It was unreal. I must have checked them twenty times. I actually got a migraine! I just couldn’t believe it.”

The delighted winner who hasn’t won anything before, spoke of her plans for the winnings.

“The kids have never been abroad. We’ve holidayed around Ireland until now, but this makes a trip away now possible. We’ll pay off the mortgage and finally upgrade the car, which is falling apart.”

The lucky Quick Pick ticket was bought in Topaz Kill Service Station on the Naas Road in Kill, Co. Kildare.

There was no winner of the Lotto jackpot on Saturday but one lucky ticketholder matched five numbers and the bonus to win €111,049. The winning Quick Pick ticket was bought in Michael Hosey XL, Stapelstown Road, Co. Carlow on Friday 7 October 2016.
