Mini Maestros at Wexford Arts Centre

Mini Maestros at Wexford Arts Centre

Every Wednesday morning at Wexford Arts Centre over thirty 1-5 year olds join Mini Maestros, a Parent & Toddler Workshop. Here they meet other parents and children in a fun, original and educational workshop with Aileen Donohoe from The Royal Academy of Music, London and Peter McCamley, from Rose Bruford College of Music and Drama.

Mini Maestros includes singing, movement, drums, bongos, chimes, castanets, maraca, claves, bells, Glockenspiel, boom-whackers, piano and guitar. It offers a fun and interactive introduction in early musical education, and a wonderful opportunity for parents to join their child in the discovery of music, rhythm and singing, learning to play a variety of instruments, and to recognise musical notation.

Susan Donohoe and her son Alex attend Mini Maestros each week. Susan says,

“Alex has become more confident and has really developed since coming to Mini Maestros and he gets very excited about our ‘fun’ Wednesday mornings together.”

Wexford Arts Centre is funded by the Irish Arts Council and greatly appreciates the assistance received from Lottery funding.
