Changes to the National Lottery App- Notice to Customers
We are excited to announce a redevelopment of our mobile app to bring you a continued fun gaming experience!
What to Expect
The new mobile app is scheduled to go live on Sunday, December 1st.
Below are the highlights of the improvements made:
Draw-Based Game playslips:
The Draw-Based Game dashboards have been removed to give our players quicker access to the playslips.
All playslips are pre-populated with the minimum number of lines as Quick Pick lines. Players can then edit as they desire.
Using the same RNG (random number generator) as before for the 'Shake Numbers' function, players can see the Quick Pick numbers right on their playslips. The Shake Numbers feature is a lot more sensitive than it was on the old app.
Similar to our web app, the How to Play and Responsible Play details are on the playslip together with the win odds under Game Information.
- The configuration of the Lotto 5-4-3-2-1 playslips can all be done on the playslip without going through additional screens or modals
Instant Win Games
- We are also redeveloping our Instant Win Game portfolio. A selection of our current Instant Win Games will be temporarily removed from and replaced with a smaller portfolio of games. We’ll continue to roll out additional games over the coming months, ensuring that many of your favourite games return alongside some exciting new game launches!
- With our new games, if you pause an Instant Win Game and return to it later, you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off rather than starting over. We hope this enhances your gaming experience!
Notifications
- Notifications are much more prominent on our new app. If players have any notifications, they will see a red dot on the 'More' menu, besides the 'My Account' section, and on Notifications after they expand My Account. They will also see the number of unread notifications below the "Hi, First Name" greeting.
Ticket Scanner
- The torch functionality in the ticket scanner has been restored.
Scheduled Play
- Scheduled Play is the only play journey where Quick Pick can be done either via the in-app RNG or via a different set of numbers each draw.
Translation
In the old app, tapping Gaeilge in the More Menu directed users to the website; in the new app, users will see Gaeilge automatically if their device default language is Gaeilge.
To see Gaeilge, users can go to device Settings > General > Language and switch their default language to Gaeilge.
Things to be made aware of:
The 'Number Checker' function has been completely removed online with this release.
The following sections are webviews, so will look slightly different than they did on the old app:
Registration
Results
Email verification
ID verification
Biometrics
Players will first need to log in using their email/username and password before they will be asked if they want to use their biometrics to log in to the app.
- If you forget your password, don't worry! If you can reset it here.
- If you need support resetting your password, you can contact our Customer Support team from 8am to 9pm, Monday to Sunday., by emailing support@lottery.ie. or by phoning(01) 889 1000.
Thank You for Your Patience
We apologise for any temporary inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to bring you an improved playing experience.
