Waterford Player Scoops €5.2 Million Lotto Win

One lucky SuperValu customer in Waterford has certainly bagged the bargain of a life time after the National Lottery confirmed that SuperValu Kilbarry in Waterford has sold the winning Quick Pick ticket for Wednesday night’s massive €5,260,021 jackpot prize.

This latest Lotto win is the 8th jackpot win this year with over €50 million claimed in jackpot prizes alone. In 2019, over €116 million has been won in prizes which includes 16 new millionaires which have been created in the Lotto and Lotto Plus games.

Since 1988, there have been 41 Lotto jackpot winners in Co. Waterford who have shared a whopping €71.4 million in jackpot prizes between them.

This isn’t the first time that a customer of SuperValu Kilbarry has picked up a lottery fortune. A €1 million EuroMillions prize was won in November 2017. 

Karl Carter, manager of the lucky SuperValu Kilbarry said: “We’re absolutely thrilled, we have thousands of customers in our store each week and we are delighted that one of our shoppers is now  €5.2 million richer. Among the celebrations at the winning SuperValu Kilbarry in Waterford City, a National Lottery spokesperson also confirmed that they are still waiting to hear from the lucky winner of the €5.2 million prize. They said, “It has been an incredible year so far for our Lotto players who have now won over €116 million in prizes which includes the creation of 16 new millionaires.
