A lucky Lotto player in Co. Waterford is Ireland’s newest millionaire after winning the top prize of €1 million on last night’s Lotto Plus 1 draw (Wednesday 4th November).
A National Lottery spokesperson said it will reveal the name of the winning store on Friday and said: “It’s good news for anyone in Waterford who bought a ticket for last night’s Lotto draw. This means that the National Lottery has made two millionaires in the past 24 hours, after another €1 million prize was won in Dublin on Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw. With our ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’ event we promised to make at least five new millionaires by 13th November – well now we know we’ll have at least six!”
The spokesperson continued: “As with any prize win over €1 million, it is important that we inform the winning retailer and of course to give the winning ticketholder the time and space they need to let this amazing win to sink in. If you are the lucky ticketholder, please sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will make arrangements for you to claim your prize.”

The ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ winning raffle code which is worth €1,005,000 (One Million and Five Thousand Euro) to the lucky Dubliner is: I-JXB-69364.
Owner of the winning store, Matthew Dunne was shocked to hear that he was the lucky retailer and congratulated his lucky customer on their million euro win: “This has absolutely knocked me for six, I just don’t believe it. A million euro will mean an awful lot to one of our customers and whoever they are, we wish them all the very best of luck. I only took over the running of this store last year so to have a lottery win so quickly is absolutely magical. I am incredibly lucky to have three very hard-working members of staff in the store who have shown tremendous dedication over the last number of months. Without any hesitation, I have decided to share my National Lottery selling bonus with all of them. It’s a timely boost which I think we all needed,” he said.
Tuesday night’s EuroMillions draw was the first draw in the eagerly anticipated EuroMillions ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’ which guarantees to make five brand new millionaires in Ireland over the next two weeks with a series of special EuroMillions ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ events.
These raffle events mean that there will be one guaranteed Irish winner of €1 million in each EuroMillions draw on Tuesday 3rd November, Friday 6th November and Tuesday 10th November. The ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’ will come to a dramatic close on Friday 13th November when not one, but two EuroMillions players in Ireland will win a life changing €1 million each.
Typically, in every single EuroMillions draw, ten players in Ireland win €5,000 on the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’. In last night’s draw, an additional €1 million was added to the special raffle draw and among the ten winners of €5,000, one of those winners won an additional €1 million.
How do I enter the EuroMillions ‘Ireland Only Raffle’?
Every player in Ireland who buys a ticket for any EuroMillions draw between Tuesday 3rd November and Friday 13th November will be automatically entered into the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ for that corresponding draw. A unique code on each ticket will be the player’s raffle number. Five players over the ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’ will become guaranteed millionaires. It could be you!
