Celebrations for two National Lottery syndicates claiming €1 Million each in Lotto HQ
Dublin syndicate collects €1 Million prize from New Year’s Eve Millionaire Raffle draw
€1 Million win for Kildare Daily Million syndicate
The Winners Room was kept busy with top prize wins for syndicates this week with two groups visiting Lotto HQ to collect cheques worth €1 Million each.
A Kildare syndicate were delighted to make the trip to Dublin to collect their €1 Million prize which they scooped in the Daily Million 2pm draw on Sunday 28th January. The winning ticket was purchased at Monread Fare service station on the Monread Road in Naas, Co. Kildare.
“The day after the win, there were friends texting and talking about the win but I hadn’t even realised that we had the winning ticket at that point. It was only then that I thought of scanning the ticket. I got the message to say that I had won big so I was straight on the phone to the Claims Department. The person on the end of the phone asked if I was sitting down and to be honest I probably should have been lying down for the news that followed. I really couldn’t believe it and then of course I had to convince the rest of the syndicate which was a challenge in itself!”
The syndicate admitted that the top prize win will take some time to sink in, so they are going to take their time with planning their next steps.
“As soon as the cheque clears, we’ll make our plans then. It all still seems far-fetched and too good to be true so we’re still having a proper pinch me moment.”
Meanwhile, over five weeks after winning the top prize in the Millionaire Raffle draw, a Dublin syndicate came forward to claim their €1 Million prize. The winning ticket for the New Year’s Eve draw was purchased at the Mace store on Muckross Avenue in Perrystown, Dublin 12.
“I had a few tickets sitting on a table at home and I just said I’d check them all at once. To say I got some shock when I checked this one would be an understatement. I looked at the actual results on the website so I could see straight away that I had the winning number but I didn’t truly believe it until I spoke to the Claims team to confirm the win. It’s been over a month since the draw itself and I had even heard where the winning ticket was sold at the time but it never even registered that it could be us. Thank goodness I decided to check those tickets when I did. Once I spoke to claims and they said it was definitely the big one, that was it. We were excited then to get into Lotto HQ to hand over the ticket itself.”
