Lottery Lightning strikes twice for North Dublin store which sells €500,000 Daily Million ticket two months after selling €1 million Lotto prize

Spar Cabra Dublin Daily Million Winning Ticket Sold

Cabra Spar owner “shocked and delighted”

A North Dublin store, which sold a winning Daily Million worth €500,000, has proved that lightening can strike twice as it sold its second major winning National Lottery ticket in as many months.

The top prize of €500,000, from today’s 2pm Daily Million Plus draw, was won by a lucky person who purchased their ticket at the Spar store on the New Cabra Road, Cabra, Dublin 7.

Back in April this year, this same Spar in Cabra sold a Lotto ticket worth €1 million.

Speaking on selling this winning Daily Million Plus ticket, Mark Magennis, co-owner of the Spar in Cabra said: “Unbelievable! I’m shocked that we sold a big winner so soon after selling the last one but absolutely delighted for another one of our customers. My staff and I will be spreading the word to our locals about this latest win and encouraging them to check their tickets again. They’ll probably think it’s a wind up! We’d like to wish the very best of luck to the winner, whoever they are, and you never know – our shop could get lucky for a third time very soon!”

The winning numbers from today’s Daily Million Plus draw are: 03, 11, 18, 19, 25, 33 and the bonus number is: 21.

This latest win continues Dublin’s lucky National Lottery streak after two winning prizes totalling €837,142 were sold in the capital for last night’s EuroMillions draw.

One prize, of a €337,142, was won when a Dublin player matched five numbers and one lucky star number (from 1-12). This meant that this winner was just one number shy of sharing the €51,583,717 EuroMillions jackpot, which was won in Spain. This Quick Pick ticket was sold at the Centra store on the Main Street of Howth, Co Dublin.

Another Dubliner is also €500,000 better off after winning the top prize on last night’s EuroMillions Plus draw. This ticket was sold at Mace on Kimmage Road Lower, Dublin 12.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said: “What an incredible 24 hours for National Lottery players in Dublin as more than €1.3 million has been won by three ticketholders in the capital. Please do check those tickets very carefully and if you are one of these three luck ticketholders, be sure to sign the back of the ticket and please contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and we will make arrangements to get your prize.”

The National Lottery has also reminded players that it has extended the period of time that lucky winners can collect prizes due to COVID health restrictions. This means that any lucky winners of Lotto, EuroMillions, Telly Bingo and Daily Millions draws from 9th January 2020 until draws in the week 5th July 2020 will have an extra three months in which they can claim their prize. The prize claims extension applies to winners who purchased their tickets and certain scratch card games in-store, online at www.lottery.ie and via the National Lottery App.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total more than €5.6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 33 years ago. In 2019 alone, €252 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
