The days may have gotten shorter with autumnal weather taking hold but there was no sign of things dampening for National Lottery players throughout September.

Lotto players witnessed history being made during the last Lotto draw of the month when the jackpot hit the highest amount ever seen in the history of the game in Ireland. On Wednesday 29th September, there was a new Lotto jackpot cap set at €19,060,800 which surpassed the record-breaking Lotto jackpot win by the Dan Morrissey syndicate in Carlow in June 2008, which was previously the largest amount ever seen in the Lotto game. While there was no jackpot win during September, Lotto players ended the month on a high with players in every town and village throughout the country dreaming of becoming the largest jackpot winner ever as the jackpot roll continued.
A Lotto player in Monaghan kicked their month off to a celebratory start after scooping the top prize of €1,000,000 in the Lotto Plus 1 draw on Saturday 4th September after purchasing their winning ticket at Birdys Newsagents on the Main Street in Carrickmacross. Just a week later, a Dublin player had a similar win after bagging themselves a cool €1,000,000 in the Lotto Plus 1 draw on Saturday 11th September. The winning ticket was purchased at Centra Drimnagh in Dublin 12.
September proved to be a great month for two Lotto players in Kerry. A player in the picturesque village of Beaufort came within just one number of the mega €16,419,005 jackpot on Saturday 18th September. The Kerry player matched five numbers and the bonus to win a massive €257,723 in the Saturday night draw. The winning ticket was purchased at Carson’s Daybreak store in Beaufort village. The following week, an online player in the Kingdom became the biggest winner of the night on Saturday 25th September after winning the top prize of €250,000 in the Lotto Plus 2 draw.
Two EuroMillions Plus top prize amounts of €500,000 were won within the space of a week. A player in Limerick scooped the top prize in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Friday 3rd September after purchasing their ticket in the Tesco store in the Roxboro Shopping centre while just a week later, an online player in Dublin scooped the top prize amount of €500,000 in the 10th September draw.
A Daily Million player in the Sunny South East won the top prize of €1,000,000 in the 9pm draw on Friday 24th September. The Wexford player purchased their winning ticket at Centra on the Strand Road in Rosslare to become the biggest Daily Million winner of the month.
September was a great month for scratch card players all over Ireland with ten players sharing a prize fund of €405,000. This included three wins of €50,000 on the €5 Bingo Multiplier scratch card game. The first top prize-winning ticket was purchased in Londis at The Old Schoolhouse, Pollsallagh in Piercestown, Co. Wexford while the next was purchased at the Centra store in Stoneybatter, Dublin 7. The third €50,000 scratch card was purchased at the Londis on the Skibbereen Road in Rosscarbery in Co. Cork.
