Saturday night’s Lotto Plus 2 winner makes contact with National Lottery


The National Lottery have today confirmed that the winner of Saturday night’s Lotto Plus 2 top prize of €250,000 has come forward and arrangements are now being made for the winner to claim their prize.

The Dublin winner scooped their top prize amount after purchasing their winning ticket at the Centra shop in Greendale Shopping Centre in Kilbarrack, Dublin 5.

Staff at the Centra store in Greendale Shopping Centre in Kilbarrack were delighted to hear that one of their customers won the top prize of €250,000 in Saturday night’s (18th December) Lotto Plus 2 draw. 

Meanwhile, the National Lottery are continuing to appeal to players to purchase their tickets early for tomorrow night’s draw and to follow public health guidelines while doing so. Lotto tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the cut-off time for sales at 7.45pm tomorrow evening.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “It was a big weekend for Lotto players over the weekend. As well as a top prize winner in Dublin, we also saw a player in Mullingar become the newest Lotto millionaire after scooping the Match 5+Bonus prize which was worth an incredible €1,007,815 on Saturday night. We understand that players all over the country would love to see the jackpot won before Christmas and with the capped €19.06 million still up for grabs, we are reminding players to purchase their tickets early ahead of Wednesday night’s draw and to avoid queues in-store where possible.”

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total more than €6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 34 years ago. In 2020 alone, €254 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
