Online EuroDreams player in Dublin wins special Leap Day prize of €2,000 per month for 5 years

It was a Leap Day to remember for a EuroDreams player in Dublin who won an extra special prize in last Thursday’s draw following a promotion that guaranteed one player in Ireland only to win €2,000 per month for 5 years.

Every winning ticket from the 29th February draw was entered into a draw of all the EuroDreams winners in Ireland for that particular draw and one of those winners was selected at random to win the guaranteed Tier 2 prize, in addition to the prize they won.

The online Dublin player who scooped the additional Tier 2 prize matched 2 numbers in the draw which meant their prize would have been €2.50. The player received an unexpected phone call from the National Lottery Claims team following the draw to confirm the win. Arrangements are now being made for the player to claim their special annuity prize.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “A EuroDreams player in Dublin officially got the biggest Leap Day surprise of all after receiving a phone call from our Claims team to tell them they won a special promotional prize worth €2,000 per month for 5 years. Last Thursday’s draw saw over 62,000 players in Ireland win prizes in the Leap Day EuroDreams draw with each and every one of these winners added into a special draw to win the guaranteed Tier 2 prize. Interestingly, the winner of the special prize had matched 2 numbers in the draw so as far as they were aware they had won €2.50 which added to the surprise when they got the call informing them of their bigger win. Arrangements are now being made for the online player to claim their prize in Lotto HQ.”
