After the Lotto jackpot reached the highest amount ever seen in the history of the game at the end of September, players all over the country benefited from the prize roll down which came into effect from Saturday 2nd October. While the jackpot remained capped at €19.06 million for the month of October, this meant that the additional funds that would usually go to the jackpot were instead distributed to the next highest tier with a winner. This resulted in 144 players nationwide winning boosted prizes at both the Match 5+Bonus and Match 5 levels throughout the month.
In the first ever capped jackpot draw, two players in Dublin shared an incredible prize fund of €1,652,784 after matching 5 numbers and the bonus to win €826,392 each in the 2nd October draw.
