Staff at Buckley’s Centra in Mullingar and at Sweeney’s Centra in Ratoath were celebrating after it was announced that both stores sold €1 million winning tickets for Friday and Saturday night.

Area Manager Eoin Kennedy was overjoyed to hear that one of their customers had a celebratory start to their weekend: “We were thrilled to get the call over the weekend from the National Lottery. We have lots of local customers here in the town so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that someone nearby may have come into some good luck over the weekend. Friday night certainly is a nice time to win. I imagine there must have been great celebrations over the weekend. We have a team of 16 here in-store and as soon as news spreads, we know that there will be lots of excitement around the place. This is also the biggest prize that we have ever sold so it’s double celebrations here.”

On Saturday night, two more National Lottery players had similar luck after winning the top prize of €1 million each in the 6th November Lotto Plus 1 draw. One of the winners was an online player in Wicklow who purchased their Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw. The other winner purchased their winning Quick Pick ticket, which is now worth €1 million, in Sweeney’s Centra in the Corbalis Shopping Centre in Ratoath, Co. Meath on the day of the draw.

Paul Sweeney, owner of Sweeney’s Centra, was delighted to get the good news: “What a time for a €1 million win! This is the largest prize amount that we have ever sold so there’s great excitement in the shop today. We are all absolutely buzzing for the winner and hoping that it might be someone local too. I am sure that lots of customers will be keen to check their tickets on this wet Monday morning as soon as word gets out. With Christmas just around the corner, I’m sure the win has come at a perfect time. Let’s hope the winner checks their ticket soon!”

The National Lottery are urging Daily Million players in Westmeath and Lotto Plus players in Meath to check their tickets carefully as Ireland’s newest Lotto millionaires are yet to come forward. The winning ticket holders are advised to sign the back of their tickets and keep them safe. They should contact the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prizes.
