Meath player claims Lotto jackpot worth €3,987,540 and plans to share prize amongst family and friends

‘Rush’ of excitement for one Dublin player who scooped €86,898 in last night’s Lotto draw

A National Lottery player from Co. Meath claimed a ‘Royal’ Lotto jackpot prize of €3,987,540 at Lottery HQ this afternoon.

The player, who is the sole winner of the ticket and wishes to remain anonymous, is still in a state of shock over the win: “I’ve had over a week to process the win and still can’t wrap my head around it! I kept double checking and triple checking the ticket all week to make sure I hadn’t made a mistake, but today, the ticket was confirmed, and I nearly keeled over when I received my cheque and seen all the numbers. It's the most surreal feeling ever”, he said.

The local man from Meath purchased his winning quick pick ticket on the day of the draw (18th March) in Bowe’s EuroSpar in the centre of Duleek village.

“I’m determined to share this prize with my nearest and dearest to spread some joy. I've already given some of my friends some money to help change their lives a little and I’m in the process of dividing the remainder of the prize out amongst my family. I’m can’t wait to hop on a plane and take a nice long holiday in the sun over the next couple of months to really let the win really sink in!”, he added.

Meanwhile a player from Rush in Co. Dublin will be celebrating today as they matched 5 numbers and the bonus in last night’s Lotto draw to scoop €86,898. The winning quick pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw in the Day Today store in Rush, Co. Dublin.

The National Lottery is still waiting to hear from last night’s Dublin winner and has asked all players in the Rush area to check their tickets carefully to see if they are the winner.

The winning numbers in last night’s (29th March) Lotto draw were: 12, 14, 32, 37, 40, 44 and the bonus was 35.
