With the summer months upon us, things really are starting to heat up for National Lottery players all over the country – especially for three Lotto players in Athlone, Castlebar and Myrtleville!

May was an incredible month for Lotto players as three Lotto millionaires were made in the space of a week. A Westmeath player won the Lotto jackpot of €6,489,165 on Saturday 22nd May after purchasing their Quick Pick ticket at the Applegreen service station located just off the M6/N6 motorway in the Arcadia Retail Park in Athlone, Co. Westmeath. The Midlands win marked the third Lotto jackpot to be won so far this year and then just a week later, a Lotto player in Cork became the fourth Lotto jackpot winner of 2021. On Saturday 29th May, a Rebel county player scooped the €2,469,871 jackpot. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at O’Connell’s Foodstore in the seaside town of Myrtleville, Co. Cork.
The Lotto Plus 1 top prize of €1,000,000 was also won in the 22nd May draw by a player in Mayo who purchased their winning ticket at Cunningham’s in the village of Belcarra located just outside Castlebar. A few short days before the €1 million win, the West of Ireland celebrated a Match 5+Bonus win when another Mayo player bagged themselves a cool €106,931 in the 19th May Lotto draw.
The three newest Lotto millionaires are yet to come forward. We are urging players in Cork, Mayo and Westmeath to check their tickets carefully from the 22nd May and 29th May draws. Three players have tickets worth €6.4 million, €2.4 million and €1 million - as we always say, it could be you!
There was a Royal county winner of the EuroMillions Plus top prize of €500,000 in the Friday 14th May draw. The Meath winner was the biggest EuroMillions prize winner in Ireland during the month of May after purchasing their winning ticket in Mace Johnstown at Old Johnstown Village in Navan.
We saw the Daily Million top prize of €1,000,000 being won by a Limerick player in the 9pm draw on Tuesday 18th May. The Treaty county winner became the second Daily Million top prize €1,000,000 winner so far this year following a player from Kerry who had a similar win in January. They were also the second National Lottery millionaire from Limerick this year following an online Limerick player who won the mega €8,530,884 Lotto jackpot in the 27th January draw.
May also proved to be an excellent month for our big scratch card winners which saw eight players share a prize fund of €565,000. Two of the biggest scratch card prizes won during the month of May included a €250,000 top prize win on the Mega Money Multiplier game as well as a €75,000 win on an All Cash Platinum scratch card.
