Winners Round Up – July 2022

On Wednesday 20th of July, a player from Dublin became the first big Lotto winner of the month after matching 5 numbers and the bonus to scoop €410,608. The winning Quick Pick Play with Plus ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at Tesco Superstore, Whitestown Road, Rush, Co Dublin. The ecstatic player, who decided to keep their win private, revealed to the National Lottery how they felt the moment they realised they’d won the life-changing prize.  

“I was just in complete and utter shock. I actually hid the ticket somewhere in the house for a couple of days until I could calm down and get my head around it. I must have checked it a hundred times just to be sure I wasn’t dreaming”, they said. 

“A dream of mine has always been to travel route 66 on a Harley-Davidson and I can’t believe I’m finally able to do it! It’s just wild, I never thought something like this would happen to me. I’m looking forward to taking care of the family and celebrating with them”, they added. 

Three days later, on Saturday 23rd of July, it was another win for Dublin as a Lotto player from the capital matched five numbers and the bonus to win €55,439 after purchasing their quick pick ticket at Tesco, Artane Castle, Kilmore Road, Dublin 5. 

On the same night 97 players got a massive boost to their winnings as the National Lottery topped up the Lotto Plus Raffle with an additional €1 million. The Lotto Plus Raffle typically sees between 80 and 120 winners of €500 in every draw. But on that Saturday night, there were 97 Raffle winners which meant the boosted prize fund divided out to a prize of €10,809 for each Raffle winner.

The following Saturday 30th of July, a Lotto player in Co. Offaly became the biggest winner of the night after matching 5 numbers and the bonus to take home a whopping €95,891 in the main Lotto draw. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at the Costcutter store on Moore Street in Tullamore, Co. Offaly. 

Throughout the month of July, four EuroMillions players shared an astonishing €2 million in prizes after all winning the top prize of €500,000 in EuroMillions Plus draws.

On Monday 18th of July two separate winners from Cork and Dublin came into the Winner Room in Lottery HQ to pick up a combined €1 million in prizes which they won in EuroMillions Plus draws. 

The Cork winner, who wished to remain private, took home the €500,000 top prize in the EuroMillions plus draw on Friday the 1st of July. They purchased their winning quick-pick ticket at the Lidl store on Mount Argus Road, Churchfield, Co. Cork.

Also claiming a substantial prize from Lottery HQ that day was a Dublin player who won the top prize of €500,000 in the EuroMillions plus draw. The winner, who also wanted to keep their win private, purchased their winning quick pick ticket on Thursday 7th of July at Centra, Bonnington Hotel, Swords Road, Dublin 9.

Two days later, Wednesday the 20th of July, a family syndicate from Co. Laois collected their top prize of €500,000 EuroMillions Plus draw which they won on Tuesday 12th of July. Their winning quick pick ticket was sold on the day of the at the Gala store on Grattan Street in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

“As mad as it sounds I’m really looking forward to buying some really expensive wool and knitting myself a gorgeous jumper. It’s a huge hobby of mine”, another syndicate member added. 

Also in the winner’s room that day was a Dublin player who took home the top prize in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Tuesday 19th of July. The player wasn’t hanging about and claimed their prize worth €500,000 one day after the draw! The winning ticket was purchased on Monday 18th of July in Jordan’s SuperValu, Fortunestown, Tallaght, Dublin 24.  

On Sunday the 10th of July a Daily Million player from Co. Laois became the biggest winner of month and the 22nd National Lottery millionaire of 2022 following their weekend top prize win. 

The winning Quick Pick ticket worth €1,000,000 was sold at Tesco in Portlaoise, Co. Laois. 

The winner revealed to the National Lottery what they did when they realised they won the million-euro prize: 

“I couldn’t believe it. I kept checking my ticket over and over again. The first thing I did was call my mother and said ‘Mam, you better take a seat for what I’m about to tell you’. At first, she was a little worried and thought it might be bad news, but she was roaring and cheering when I told her the good news! I’m looking forward to taking care of my mam and extended family. I can’t wait to travel and especially tick America off my bucket list as I’ve never been. And, of course, I would love to buy my own home for the first time ever!” they said.

During the month of July, we saw two Snowball winners in Telly Bingo. On Tuesday 7th July, a Mayo player won €40,005 purchasing their Telly Bingo ticket at The Hollymount store, in Hollymount, Clairemorris, Co.Mayo. A Telly Bingo player in Cavan got their week off to a celebratory start after winning the Snowball prize on Tuesday 19th of July. The player won their €40,005 prize after purchasing their ticket in Dolan Bros in Dowra, Co.Cavan.

July was a big month for scratch card players all over the country with four players sharing an incredible €165,000. This included a €50,000 prize won on an Mega Money Multiplier card purchased at Centra, Mountain Top, Letterkenny, Co Donegal . Three Dublin players enjoyed wins from Scratchcards this month including a €45,000 win on a Golden 4s Silver 5s scratch card which was purchased at Spar, in the Square Shopping Centre, Tallaght, Dublin 24.
