A Cork Lotto player is heading into the weekend as Ireland’s newest jackpot winner after scooping €5,664,896 in Wednesday night’s draw.
It has today been confirmed that the winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on Tuesday 6th October at the Eason store at Unit 14/15 in the Mahon Point Shopping Centre in Cork.
Store Manager Eimear O’Donovan was delighted to get the call from the National Lottery this week: “To hear that one of our customers is the winner of a Lotto jackpot worth over €5.6 million is just incredible. The thought that the winning ticket could be sitting in someone’s pocket, handbag or at home right now is hugely exciting. We’ll be telling everyone who comes through the doors to get checking those tickets because one of our customers could be in for a celebratory weekend that they will never forget! After being named Eason Store of the Year this year, this really is the icing on the cake and another brilliant reason for our team to celebrate.”
The Rebel County player has become the 25th National Lottery millionaire of 2026. They have also taken the title of 6th National Lottery millionaire from Cork so far this year.
The National Lottery is continuing to appeal to players in the Cork area to check their tickets very carefully from Wednesday’s draw as one person now has a ticket worth a staggering €5,664,896.
The winning numbers for Wednesday’s Lotto draw (7th October) were: 3, 17, 26, 29, 37, 42 and the Bonus was 38.
National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr had the following message for Cork Lotto players.
“A Lotto player in Cork may be going about their day with no idea that the ticket in their possession is worth over €5.6 million. We are asking anyone who visited Mahon Point Shopping Centre on Tuesday and bought their Wednesday night Lotto ticket at the Eason store to check those tickets as soon as possible.”
“The winner should sign the back of their ticket, keep it safe and contact our Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222. We look forward to welcoming them to Lottery Headquarters to celebrate what is sure to be a truly unforgettable win.”
