Galway winner is third of five guaranteed new Irish millionaires with EuroMillions ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’

People across Co. Galway are being encouraged to check their EuroMillions tickets carefully after the National Lottery revealed that the winning ticket from last night’s ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ prize of over €1 million was sold in the West.

Last night’s EuroMillions draw was the third draw in the eagerly anticipated EuroMillions ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’ which guarantees to make five brand new millionaires in Ireland over two weeks with a series of special EuroMillions ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ events.

The ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ winning raffle code in last night’s EuroMillions draw, which is worth €1,005,000 (One Million and Five Thousand Euro) to one lucky Galway player is: I-JXR–67753.

A National Lottery spokesperson said it will reveal the name of the winning store on Thursday and said: “It might be a damp and grey day out West but I’m sure there is a bright smile on the face of a lucky Galwegian who is Ireland’s newest millionaire and the third winner of €1 million as part of our ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’. We are asking everyone in Galway to check those tickets and see if their raffle code is I-JXR–67753. If that code matches the one on your EuroMillions ticket then we would ask you to sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize. As with any prize win over €1 million, it is important that we inform the winning retailer and of course to give the winning ticketholder the time and space they need to let this amazing win to sink in.”

These raffle events guarantee one Irish winner of €1 million in each EuroMillions draw on Tuesday 3rd November, Friday 6th November and Tuesday 10th November. The ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’ will come to a dramatic close this Friday 13th November when not one, but two EuroMillions players in Ireland will win a life changing €1 million each.

The first two ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’ €1 million winning tickets were sold in Dublin. One was bought at the Mace store in the Deansrath shopping centre in Clondalkin, Dublin 22, on Tuesday 3rd November. The second was bought at the Bookstation store in Stillorgan Shopping Centre, Stillorgan, Co. Dublin.

The Lottery spokesperson reminded players across the country that the winning will not stop here and said: “The ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’ will come to a dramatic climax this Friday 13th, which will be lucky for some, as the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ as part of the EuroMillions draw, will make two new guaranteed millionaires. Be sure to buy your EuroMillions ticket before 7:30pm on the day of the draw for your double chance to become a millionaire.”

Typically, in every single EuroMillions draw, ten players in Ireland win €5,000 on the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’. In last night’s draw, an additional €1 million was added to the special raffle draw and among the ten winners of €5,000, one of those winners won an additional €1 million.

With more than 58,000 Irish winners in Friday’s EuroMillions jackpot draw, the National Lottery is encouraging all of its player to check their tickets carefully. There was no winner of the €50,553,655 jackpot on offer, which now rolls to a massive €65 million (est) next Tuesday.

How do I enter the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’?

Every player in Ireland who buys a ticket for any EuroMillions draw between Tuesday 3rd November and Friday 13th November will be automatically entered into the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ for that corresponding draw. A unique code on each ticket will be the player’s raffle number. Five players over the ‘Fortnight of Fortunes’ will become guaranteed millionaires. It could be you!

How does this work?

As with every EuroMillions draw the ‘Ireland Only Raffle sees 10 winners, drawn at random, receive €5,000. One of these ten winners will then have an additional €1 million added to their prize in the first three of the four draws over the two weeks. On the fourth, and final, draw two winners of the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ will win an extra €1 million.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish Language. In total more than €5.8 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 33 years ago. In 2019 alone, €252 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
