Galway Lotto winner makes contact with National Lottery to claim their €46,234 prize from December

The National Lottery has confirmed that the Galway winner of the Lotto Match 5 + Bonus prize of €46,234 from 12th December has come forward to claim their prize.

The lucky ticket holder made contact with just two weeks to go until the deadline to claim their prize which would have been close of business on Friday 12th March.

There were two winners of the Lotto Match 5 + Bonus prize of €92,468 on Saturday 12th December 2020. The winning ticket from Galway which had been unclaimed was sold at Clybaun Stores on the Clybaun Road in Knocknacarra in Galway on the day of the draw.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said: “We can confirm that the Match 5 + Bonus winner from Galway has made contact to claim their prize of €46,234 from the Lotto draw on 12th December. We were absolutely delighted to hear from the winner as the last date to claim the prize was getting close. We are now making arrangements for the lucky winner to make their claim in the coming days.”

Meanwhile, the Lotto jackpot for tomorrow night (27th February) will roll to an estimated €5.5 million.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total more than €5.8 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 33 years ago. In 2020 alone, €254 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
