€1 Million prize makes a couple's dream come true!
A Dublin duo collected a life-changing €1 Million cheque this afternoon after becoming one of 100 Millionaires from across Europe in the EuroMillions ‘Shower of Millionaires’ promotion held on Friday, 22nd November.
One syndicate member recalled what led to the win "I went into the Day Today Store in Ongar Village after seeing a sign in the window saying the EuroMillions Jackpot was an estimated €190 Million, and it reminded me to grab a ticket. I had no idea there was a special promotion”.
Days later, they checked their ticket on the National Lottery app and were stunned to see they had won €1 Million. The timing couldn’t have been better for the pair, who shared, "Our biggest dream is to own our own home. We've been searching for months without success so this win couldn’t have come at a better time."
Dublin winner secures handsome prize of €256,307
Also securing a handsome prize was a Dublin man who won €256,307 in the EuroMillions draw on 12th November. The player purchased the winning ticket in the Nearby Store on North Circular Road in Phibsborough in Dublin 7.
“I usually play the EuroMillions and grab a quick pick whenever I'm passing a shop. Funnily enough, the week previous, I bought a quick pick, and I thought the numbers seemed quite unusual, and for the draw on the 12th of November, I decided to play them numbers as my own. Lo and behold, they brought me some fortune after matching five numbers and the bonus! It was such a surprise - I was totally stunned!”
The Dublin man has no immediate plans to spend his winnings, but he’s looking forward to an extra special Christmas this year.

“The scratch card you’re holding is worth €200,000!**” comes as a shock for Corkonian
For one Corkonian, a quick stop at Roche’s Service Station and Day Today store in Whitechurch, Cork, turned into an unforgettable moment. On a whim, the player picked up an All-Cash Spectacular Scratch Card and scratched it, thinking they had won €20,000. Thrilled with what they believed was a substantial win, they called the National Lottery Claims team to confirm.
On the other end of the line was a member of the prize claims team, Martin, who asked if they were aware of the ticket’s value. Confidently, the player responded, “€20,000”. But then came a pause. “No, that’s not correct,” said Martin. The player’s heart sank, fearing they had misread the card entirely. What came next was a moment they’ll never forget: “The Scratch Card you’re holding is worth €200,000!”
Describing the moment, the winner said, “The blood drained from me, and my jaw hit the floor!”
The winner decided to take their time before claiming the prize, hiding the valuable ticket in the insulation of their attic for safekeeping. While they have no immediate plans for the windfall, the Cork winner is already looking forward to making this Christmas extra special.
Sweet Tooth Leads to €20,000 Scratch Card Win for Clare Woman
A Clare woman is celebrating after claiming the €20,000 top prize on a Merry Money Scratch Card, purchased at Healy’s Spar on Turnpike Road in Ennis, Co. Clare.
The winner shared with the National Lottery the charming story behind her win "A few days ago, I spotted some buns in Healy’s Spar that I couldn’t stop thinking about, so I made the trip back to get them! While I was there, I cashed in a €5 win on a Lucky Line from my Telly Bingo ticket and said to the cashier, ‘Can you give me one of those Christmas Scratch Cards?’"
She tucked the scratch card into her bag and went about her day, unaware that she was carrying a life-changing prize, "I had no idea I was walking around with a €20,000-winning Scratch Card in my handbag! When I finally scratched it, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The first person I called was my twin sister and she was so excited for me."
The winner made the three-and-a-half-hour trip to Dublin to collect her cheque, but her journey included an unexpected moment of kindness "The bus dropped me off in the city centre, and I got talking to a stranger who offered me a lift to the National Lottery. She even rubbed my arm for good luck on the way! We had a great laugh about it."
As for plans for her newfound fortune, she’s keeping it simple for now "I’ve no big plans yet, but I’m hoping to treat myself to a nice new couch for the sitting room."
