‘Appy Online Player Collects €500,000 Cheque 8 Weeks After Winning EuroMillions Plus

EuroMillions Plus Online Win

An online National Lottery player has finally collected her EuroMillions Plus top prize of €500,000 from National Lottery HQ in Dublin today, eight weeks after the draw which took place on Tuesday 19th June.

The online player was sitting comfortably at home the night of the draw when her phone buzzed with a notification from the National Lottery alerting her to her win.

After the draw on the Tuesday night, I got a notification on my phone to tell me that there was some good news about my EuroMillions ticket! I thought it was only a couple of euro!” said the shocked winner.

“When I logged onto my account, my wallet balance hadn’t increased at all which was odd considering that I’d just been notified of a win. I opened up my email and there was a note from the National Lottery with details on how I could claim my prize of €500,000. I was absolutely shaking like a leaf!” she added.

The Dublin woman, who wishes to keep her win private, discussed how she put her initial shock behind her to coolly bide her time and get her ducks in a row before she collected her life-changing prize:

“I certainly needed some time to come to terms with the win and it’s been very useful to take some proper time out. It is a huge amount of money which will certainly change my life so I wanted to be sure that I took the time to get over the shock and made a proper plan for it. Top of my shopping list is definitely a house in the Dublin area so I can’t wait to get out there and start looking,” she added.

It has been a bumper year for online National Lottery players who have won over €19 million in prizes. The biggest online win of the year so far was a €7.1 million Lotto jackpot in February which was won by a syndicate who played their numbers on the National Lottery mobile app.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games go back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, community, arts, heritage and the Irish language. In total more than €5 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 30 years ago.
