EuroMillions Plus Dublin and Louth Win

EuroMillions Players in Dublin and Louth Win €500,000 Each

Two lucky EuroMillions players in Dublin and Louth are a combined €1 million richer today as each won €500,000 on last night’s EuroMillions Plus draw. These are the twelfth and thirteenth EuroMillions Plus winners so far this year.

The winning EuroMillions Plus ticket sold in the capital was bought at the Spar store at St. Agnes Park, Crumlin, Dublin 12. The other ticket, worth €500,000 was sold in McCreesh’s, Avenue Road, Dundalk, Co Louth.

Speaking on selling his store’s first ever major National Lottery prize winning ticket, Des McCreesh, owner of McCreesh’s said: “I’m absolutely delighted to get the news that we sold a winning EuroMillions Plus prize. It’s even better news for whoever the winner is so we’ve been spreading the word in the store this morning, encouraging all our customers to check their tickets, there is a nice bit of excitement about the area. It’s actually the first time we’ve sold a major National Lottery prize winning ticket in the 18 years we’ve been in business. Best of luck to the winner, whoever he or she is!”

The National Lottery is now encouraging all its players in Dublin and Louth to check their tickets. A spokesperson said: “As Ireland moves to the next phase of reopening from the COVID 19 restrictions it is a nice time to win €500,000. If you are one of those two lucky ticketholders, be sure to sign the back of the ticket and please contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and we will make arrangements to get your prize.”

There was another notable winner in Ireland from last night’s draw as an online player in Dublin matched five numbers in the main EuroMillions draw, winning a cool €13,455.

There was no winner of the €29,131,137 EuroMillions jackpot which rolls to an estimated €40 million for the next draw on Tuesday 9th June.

The National Lottery has also reminded players that it has extended the period of time that lucky winners can collect prizes due to COVID health restrictions. This means that any lucky winners of Lotto, EuroMillions, Telly Bingo and Daily Millions draws from 9th January 2020 until draws in the week 5th July 2020 will have an extra three months in which they can claim their prize. The prize claims extension applies to winners who purchased their tickets and certain scratch card games in-store, online at www.lottery.ie and via the National Lottery App.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total more than €5.6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 33 years ago. In 2019 alone, €252 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
