First Lotto draw of 2024 brings €209,699 win for Dublin player!

Saturday’s Lotto Jackpot set to roll towards €11.5 Million Estimated

A Lotto player in Dublin had a Wednesday night to remember after scooping €209,699 in the first Lotto draw of the year. The Dublin player matched 5 numbers and the bonus to become the biggest winner of the night after purchasing their ticket on Saturday 30th December at the Valley News shop in Fortunestown Shopping Centre in Dublin 24.

Shop owner Anthony Walsh was thrilled to get the call from the National Lottery with the good news.

“As soon as word gets out that we sold a ticket worth over €200,000, there is certain to be a total buzz around the store and I’m sure we’ll have lots of customers in to check their tickets. Imagine starting the new year with a win like that – it’s news that we would all like to be getting! Hopefully the ticket isn’t stuck at the end of a bag somewhere and the winner realizes that they have a winner soon. We wish them all the very best with their win.”

The winning numbers for the Wednesday 3rd January draw were: 01, 06, 07, 19, 28, 40 and the bonus 14.

The National Lottery has advised players in the Dublin 24 area to check their tickets carefully as one ticketholder now has a ticket worth €209,699. The winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket and to keep it safe. They should contact the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize in Lotto HQ.

While over 88,000 players nationwide won prizes across the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws on Wednesday night, there was no outright winner of the €11,076,949 jackpot on offer. With Saturday’s Jackpot now set to roll towards an estimated €11.5 Million, the National Lottery have reminded players dreaming of winning big this weekend that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7:45pm cut-off time for sales on Saturday evening.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total, more than €6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 36 years ago. In 2022 alone, €259.5 Million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
